Title: Last Alliance Threatguls
Post by: Jens on November 14, 2020, 03:22:40 PM
I felt like sharing my King Standard deck, it does pretty well against pretty much anything you throw at it.

The whole idea is to get that nasty pale blade up as often as you can and see if you can beast mode through the other shadow with a classic Last Alliance. Thanks to Legolas, Fearless Marksman, Gondorian Sword and Gollum, Old Villain it also cycles pretty well when needed.

Nothing that surprising about the free peoples, except maybe the inclusion of The Saga of Elendil which doesn't do that much unless you are making Aragorn a mega-pincushion. I guess it has limited play on Derufin as well, with his two copies there.

The Shadow side is where I am surprised. No Morgul Destroyer? No Morgul Brute? No Morgul Whelp? Those guys are such fun and have pretty great synergy (particularly Destroyer). I also think four copies of the Pale Blade might be heavy with the recursion available--I think a copy of Evil-Smelling Fens would be more helpful in the place of one of them, and possibly pulling a second for a Black Steed (which you can take advantage of at sites 5 and 9, particularly).
