Title: elven sword question

Is there any reason Elven Sword can't be used in a skirmish other than the bearers?
I found a post about Glimpse of Fate/Banner of Elbereth that dismissed the sword and though that was kind of silly.

4C64   Elven Sword
Elven   Possession   Cost: 1   Str: +1   
Bearer must be an Elf. Skirmish: Exert bearer or discard 2 cards from hand to make a minion skirmishing bearer strength -1.

Nope! Of course, it won't make any minion -1 since there won't be a minion skirmishing bearer, but it's perfect for manipulating initiative as you mention.

Would love to see the post you referenced. I find a balance of Elven Sword and Banner of Elbereth (or, with a different balance Gandalf, Manager of Wizards and Echoes of Valinor) are quite fun for Glimpse of Fate shenanigans.
