Title: Elf Events/Rout
Post by: SomeRandomDude on November 14, 2008, 10:48:43 PM
Frodo, Hope of Free Peoples
Such a Weight to Carry

Legolas, Fearless Marksman
Arwen, Queen of Elves and Men
Galadriel, Lady Redeemed

Cirdan, The Shipwright x 2

Glimpse of Fate x 2
Shadow Between x 2
Hope Comes x 2

Bow of the Galadhrim, Gift of Galadriel
Asfaloth, Elven Steed
Sting, Bane of the Eight Legs

Still Needed x 4
Defiance x 4
Uncertain Paths x 4
Fleet-Footed x 4

Desert Sneak x 4
Desert Runner x 4
Desert Scout x 4
Suzerain of Harad
Desert Spearman x 4

Harsh Tongues x 3
Rout x 4
Bold Men and Grim x 2

Red Wrath x 4

The point of the deck is to, on the freeps, play lots of events. Some of them auto-recur, and that helps. I.E., you can play a couple Still Needed, then play another event to trigger Hope Comes and play another two Still Needed. Then, you have them on top of the deck for later. So pretty much just use events. Cirdan uses that to get massive. Legolas almost always ensures there's a wounded minion for Arwen to get her boost. Galadriel, well, you know what Galadriel does.

On the shadow, you gain initiative, launch a catapult of exertions via Rout, then time Bold Men and Grim right to go 2 for 1 on the kill. You wound on initiative, exert with initiative, and boost with Red Wrath. Suzerain = ambush 8 and an archer, so that helps.

Seriously. No comments at all? In 2 weeks?

I'd take Resolute Hobbit over Hope of Free Peoples. Also, why Uncertain Paths? Once you have a few Still Needed
on top of your draw deck the last thing you'll want is to have to shuffle them back in.

Because there aren't any other events in King Block, so you don't have to use its ability if you don't want...or chuck it with Galadriel.

well, the minion side looks like it really needs a minion to survive for Harsh Tongues so what happens if nothing survives.  I run up against a lot of dwarven beatdown in my meta, so in all probability I'd never pull off a harsh tongues.

I like the theory of your shadow.  But as mentioned, what are your plans to make 3 men survive till the regroup phase

Just a quick aside -- remember that Reflections rings and dwarves are not included in King Block.

The only thing I can say is maybe add an elrond, VL to do some healing with still needed.
