Title: Gondor Wraiths/Corsairs
Post by: legolas3333 on February 21, 2009, 05:06:05 AM
Here's a cool one

34/34

Ring and Ring-Bearer
Frodo, Hope of Free Peoples
The One Ring, Such a Weight to Carry

Free Peoples

Companions
Aragorn, Driven by Need (starting)
2x Cursed of Erech
2x King of the Dead
2x Shadow Host
4x Sleepless Dead

Possessions/Artifacts
3x Anduril, Flame of the West
4x Spectral Sword

Events
4x At His Command
4x End of the Game

Conditions
4x Stronger and More Terrible
4x Swept Away
2x The Tale of the Great Ring

Shadow

Minions
3x Castimar of Umbar
4x Corsair Boatswain
4x Corsair Brute
3x Corsair Marauder
4x Corsair Ruffian

Possessions
4x Black Sails of Umbar
4x Corsair War Galley
4x Ships of Great Draught
2x Raider Halberd

Events
4x Wind That Sped Ships

So for the good it's pretty straight forward, exhaust you companions and get a Swept away out and you good to go! for shadow you get a bunch of tokens on the possessions so you can have the initiative, play minions for cheap and reuse you cards

hmmm, I kinda like it, but in RotK block you have a lot of initiative shadows. Every shadow culture has got initiative tricks.

You definitely want to get rid of Frodo, WM and add Frodo, HoFP. HoFP can help you get the threat total just right while Wicked Masster is pretty useless.  ;)

The man speaks the truth. It can make the difference between a strength 7 Aragorn and a strength 10 Aragorn.

Maybe removing a Castamir and maybe a lesser minion to add a couple of Raider Halberd 7C146.  This weapon goes perfect with the Castamir of Umbar.  If for whatever reason you don't have enough twilight to play another minion and take advantage of Castamir's special ability, you can play the Halberd on him and exert him during the skirmish phase to get his strength up to 22 and add 6 twilight tokens.  It may not go along with your deck strategy, but if you get in a pinch it could be useful.  I've wiped out entire fellowships with that combination of cards.

Hmm... Glad to see more interesting corsair decks out there. It seems like the freepeoples side has too many companions, and the shadow has too few low cost minions. Maybe lose some of the [Raider] possessions and 1 or 2 copies of sleepless dead?

I agree with the Old Took. Lose 1 or 2 Sleepless Dead, and then maybe one of your Stronger and More Terrible?
