I'm working on bringing another feature improvement to these boards. I'll keep details under wraps for now, but you should be seeing it within the next few days (depending on how much time I have).
You should know in advance that sometimes when I mess with the code, there may temporarily be odd results. For example:
- Posts are all blank
- Posts are filled with odd text
- Forums don't load in general
- Your avatar changes to Brittney Spears
- etc. etc. etc.
If any of these things happen, know that I am only changing the display settings and NONE of your original post content is altered in any way. It's still there!
Also, at some point I may need to move everyone to the default theme. If that happens, please wait until you hear the word to go back to your custom theme.

Alrighty, then. I got a little ahead of myself... it wasn't all that hard. The above post is an example: Hover over the link. Move the mouse up after hovering. What do you all think? Positioning details can be worked out later. Note: to see what I'm talking about you have to be using the default theme.

This makes reviewing decks so much easier...but its not working in the deck section...
Maybe you can have it show up immediately to the lower right of the cursor.

Autolink in general is not working, or the picture? I haven't added it for all cards -- just this one for testing.

EDIT: Still in testing anyways, it doesn't work quite right in Firefox. Text displays over the picture. Seems to work in IE7, though.

while I am sticking with firefox, and I like my theme...can you make it work with both?

Yes and yes. With time.
EDIT: Works correctly with Firefox now. I'll wait to add it to other themes until it's finished... in the meantime, you can try switching your theme to see what it is that I'm talking about. :)

I'd like the system, but I'd also like a NOLINK command like that used in CC, where you can type NOLINK next to the word that would usually auto-link to prevent that word from autolinking. That would be great.

Ahhh... I was not aware of that feature. So you'd type something like NOLINKhate and it would display hate without the link? Easy to do. OTOH, if there are any words that shouldn't be linking, that could be fixed. I could easily make hate, never, etc. case sensitive.

I fiddled with the positioning and it's probably as good as it's going to get. I tried your suggestion, NB, and had it appear to the right of the links... unfortunately, it also would poke out of the screen if the card title was too close to the right. So for now, it will appear in the same spot: one line down and on the left side of the post.

I like the idea of NOLINK and maybe even LINK (so we don't have to hunt down the url for cards like tap) for straightforward user control. Case sensitivity could be fooled by sentences like "Never drink grape juice after eating kiwis..."
Incidentally, would auto-links showing up in the preview be out of the question? Nothing an edit couldn't fix, but it'd be convenient all the same.

Autolinks in previews and PM's can be added. I just keep forgetting. ;)
What exactly do you mean about the LINK/tap comment above? MtG card, or reference to Theoden, TaP?

I've had to remove a bunch of those already... so I'd prefer not to have to type them back in with a special code. NOLINK, on the other hand, is easy and I should be able to add it tomorrow. :)
...and... if you are going to type LINKtap, why not just type Theoden TaP?

It's for the strategy notes when sometimes we're listing and repeating a bunch of abbreviations. It doesn't take long to search for the url, though (and the instances should be few). NOLINK I think is the one where we don't have another option. :)

And I thought it was just my problem... I was seeing some avatars, but not all. It shouldn't be related, but nevertheless I'll look into it.

Yay for the return of NOLINK ! Man, that goes back to the golden age of CC.
Probably cleared up long ago, but I've been able to see avatars all day. And yes, I've noticed the forums go down entirely a couple times now. Figured it was just related to this. :roll:

I can only see avatars that are hosted on other sites besides lotrtcgdb.com. I'll look into it.
