STRATEGY
This deck is all about winning with your fellowship. So this shadow is just there to help you cycle.
Here is what you need to do turn by turn to win with this deck (It is actually possible to win, I'm 1-0 so far):
Bidding: High enough to start, 3 is usually enough in TT block.
Site 1: Play Aragorn from your draw deck and all Freeps Card you have in hand.
At site 3 you need to have: Ever my heart rises, These are my people, Theoden, Eomer, Eowyn and News from the Mark. I would suggest to walk to site 3 to be sure you have these, you can still double-move if you think you will be alright. Normally, once you have Ever my heart rises in play, some of these cards will be stacked on it.
Still at site 3, once you have these, play all your companions, discard your entire draw deck with Ever my heart rises then play These are my people to equip your companions. Then play News from the Mark (could actually play another one if you want to run straight to site 9 but its dangerous). Transfer Brego from Eowyn to Aragorn.
At site 4, survive vs a monstrous attack, try to kill as many minions as possible, or at least exert them with the horses. At this point, you want at least Pippin, Merry, Gimli and Gorn to stay alive. You move to site 5 and kill some minions with Aragorn's ability.
At site 5, your opponent will probably have a hand full of Free People cards due to having played all the shadow cards they had. He will play 1 or 2 minions max. Just like site 4, kill them or exert them with the horses. Then you triple-move to site 6 and kill more minions with Gorn's ability.
At site 6 and 7 (yes, you move again to site 7), there will probably be no minion in play, maybe one.
Then. if you played 2 News from the Mark at site 3, you can continue until site 9 and win. Otherwise... play nothing during your next shadow phase and double-move from 7 to 9 next turn.
Don't forget you can use Axe of Erebor with the useless shadow cards stacked on Ever my heart rises to win key skirmishes.
Obviously this deck has some weaknesses... Hides will be a problem and some other cards as well... but overall it can work.

I remember playing vs. this deck once... I was thinking "What the...?!" as c10ckw0rk proceeded to discard his entire deck. Very creative!
-
=D> =D> =D>
-
so with ever my heart rises, you can discard your entire deck without having to take freeps cards into hand?
-
yeah it's the cost effect thing, you have to pay the cost but as I understand it the effect can be neglected
-
Yeah, I played a movie block Kralik with a deck like... it can work in different formats...
Any tips guys? I guess it's hard to give tips about something you never played.
-
If the Freeps are ahead and discard your [Dunland] conditions, you are toast. Maybe add Radagast?
-
it seems like a sick idea...only problem is your shadow sides gonna be expensive and all.
A copy of rohirrim bow does seem like a good idea.
-
Radagast isn't TT Block. I know that the shadow can easily be destroyed.
-
Ack, sorry! Forgot and was still thinking Movie since that's when I last saw it. :P
-
the problem with the shadow is that each minion will cost an extra [2]. that really stinks for dunland since their strength lies in the fact that they can swarm with respectable strengthed minions. definitely try to find a way to bump your move limit up to outrun.
-
Please read the first post, I edited this deck and now it can work.
-
I like this version much better...
you seem tobe basing your deck on the theory that when the shadow player reconciles they will have no minions...

Well, if I play News from the Mark, you have 14 cards in hand. Lets say 7 of them are FP cards and 7 of them are Shadow cards. You probably have enough twilight at site 4 to play all of your 7 shadow cards. Then during the regroup phase, you have 7 FP cards in your hand so you can discard 1 and draw 2 cards. Normally, one of these two should be a Shadow card. You play it at site 5. Then you discard 1 FP card and draw 2 cards... It goes on and on and on. The shadow player could draw one or two minions max each site if he is really lucky, the FP can probably handle that.
So yes, you are quite right when you say that I'm basing the deck on the theory of seeing no or only a few minions after the shadow player reconciles.
-
Yeah, you need some specific circumstances for these to work, so that's a problem, but not a huge one. If the opponent has a mill deck, this won't work too well. If the opponent has other minions that you can't get rid of, it's a problem. So yeah, it's not perfect, but it's very good, cool, and inventive! Good job, I like it!
-
If mill deck = discard, there are no such deck in TT block, only those Dunland minions.
-
hey cl0ckw0rk! nice deck, I remember losing to this deck.. ;D I keep discarding my free people cards wishing to get a minion.. but eventhough I get 1, it still get wounded by aragorn.. :o
-
Again, nothing but applause! I love it!
-
Brilliant.

I recently made a movie block version of this deck. Even though I won the game, I realized this combo is harder to pull in movie block due to Enquea, Greed, etc.
I've made some small but efficient changes to the deck.
Fellowship
+1 Eowyn, Sister-daughter of Theoden
-1 Simbelmyne
Reason: Eowyn is the only Valiant companion I have. It's a bad idea to have too much Simbelmyne and not enough valiant characters.
Shadow
I changed all the rare 0-cost conditions for common and uncommons 0-cost conditions. I also added 4 Orc Pursuer and 4 Orc Runner to draw my FP stuff faster.
-
2.1.1 EDIT: I removed a useless shadow condition to add Morannon which could possibly help me draw some cards.
-
What if you don't have Ever my heart rises, These are my people, Theoden, Eomer, Eowyn and News from the Mark by site 3?
-
This deck is awesome --gotta try it for myself sometime :)
-
Discovered at site two messes with this deck pretty well. It is awesome though. Once I saw News From The Mark stacked on ever my heart rises, I knew it was a case of building up enough minions for the inevitable run of Cw0rk's fellowship. Lucky for me I drew Discovered early and managed to kill one of the hobbits at site three. Nine southrons on the table at site six was just enough to get Frodo. Fun game.
-
I like the idea; it's innovative. It will win if it sets up against many decks.
But you have one Eomer and one Theoden. What are you doing to "ensure" them? Without them, you've got a poor fellowship.
How do you handle Easterlings? You've started with 3, don't have Sam, and have let the shadow player draw a whole heap of burden adders.
Also, how do you handle Dunland? Removing Axe of Erebor - with a big minion and war club - means you'll lose from there on out. Plus you can't kill anyone because of Hides.
Because Easterlings and Dunland are so good in this block, it's tough to say this is great. But it looks fun.
-
Yeah I know, this deck has many flaws and isn't THAT good.
But its inovative for sure.
-
There are three unbound companions that start: Gimli, Merry, and Pippin. He likely exerts Merry and Pippin.
