Title: Dwarven Conditions and Sauron
Post by: Witchkingx5 on January 10, 2010, 07:30:27 AM
Gimli, BoG,
TOR, TroR

Freeps:

1x Sindri (starting)
1x Durin III (starting)
1x Linnar
1x Uri

1x Ring of Accretion
2x Ring of Guile
1x Ring of Fury

1x Axe of Erebor
1x Gimli's Battle Axe, Trusted Weapon

4x Battle Tested
4x Slaked Thirsts
2x Rest by blind Night
2x Blood Runs Chill

3x Preparations
2x Ever my heart rises
4x Dwarven Heart

Shadow:

4x Sauron, DLoM
4x Mordor Soldier
4x Desert Sneak
2x Ulaire Cantea, FTW
2x Ulaire Nelya, TotNR
Gollum, TG
Gollum, Hopeless
Gollum, Skulker
Gollum, PD

4x CbtR
3x SotDL
2x Web
Fowi

Well, the main strategy with the freeps is stacking conditions, mainly skirmish events and playing them with sindri. With Slaked Thirsts and Preparations, you have a nice exertion engine to use, Blood Runs Chill is there for Condition Removal and Double moves.
As for Shadow, I try to add some threats in the beginning with CbtR and stacking Gollum on Web, so I'll have always a Gollum that I need. (especially Gollum, TG) After adding a couple of threats with Gollum and with, Ulaire Cantea, FTW, I swarm at site 7 or 8 with some minions, and then exerting them for Sauron who will have Toil 3, then and playing SotDL on him.

But which Site Path should I choose? Or what should I change about strategy? I wanna keep the freeps Dwarves only and Shadow with the main strategy to use Sauron.

You could expand the deck I guess for Sweeter Meets for example. Delving for card drawing... That is what I would suggest...

And what about the Shadow? You think it's strong enough?

Well personally I am more of a 'launch the Demon of Might' kinda dude, cause he is, under the right circumstances, less vulnerable. Maybe Lemenlya as well for threats? If you are planning to play Sauron cheap, and it seems you are trying to, maybe Plotting? And maybe instead of Nelya that Gollum event? Sad thing is that it has to be your own site, on the other hand, it adds 3 as well....

I changed the freeps a little, works better now and tried it last Wednesday:
The Shadow was just crazy!
Site 4: Sauron+Scepter+Gollum+1Orc =>killed 2 companions
Site 6: Sauron+Gollum+Cantea+Desert Sneak => another companions died
Site 7: Sauron+Scepter+Gollum+2Sneaks+2Orcs+Nelya => won!

Your freepeoples side is quite a bit different than how i would make- only two axes? Really? :)
I would guess that you need some Dwarven Axes and more powerups. I don't know if you want to make room for them.
