I find pipe decks rather difficult to deal with. Any tips on how to beat them?

Outrun them with your own FP.

That's what I would usually do, but what about shadow strategies?

I ran pipes for a while on Dailys before the reset, it was a good run, and finally Skeeve metagamed against me playing Isen Orcs with Isengard Smith and Isengard Warrior.
edit: just saw that the topic was from a couple of months ago, sorry if you no longer look for an answer.

I like pipes, but i find hard to see them double moving, so yeah, outrun them xD

wow. This is a thread I thought I would never see. When I started playing LOTR on GCCG it was generally accepted that using a pipe deck was a death sentence. I guess it goes to show that even after dying LOTR TCG has some juice left in her.
Possession discard or discard in general would be the advice I give. Discard is a good way to counter any deck in my opinion.

I think that pipes are not so bad to double move. I mean, with all the healing, they can do site 5-7 and skip the sanctuary.

The thing with pipes is the fact that different pipe decks can be so hugely different. Some start Prancing Pony with Legolas and Arwen and focus mainly on archery to dispatch enemies. Others play Gandalf, The Grey Pilgrim with Shire Lookout Point and tend to be phenomenal at surviving, normally going for a shadow kill. The second is much weaker to beatdown Nazgul as it may take a while to set up, though can double to 9 if it survives the initial onslaught, whereas the first can find itself horribly clogged early game making Uruks a fairly good counter, dealing tons of damage at sites 4/5. Also, if you are able to pick off Aragorn, it's basically game over, since his pipe is the one that does most of the healing.
But as most people have said, the best way to beat them is to run with your Fellowship. They take a lot of setting up, what with needing to draw pipes, companions and weed, so early pushes are often fatal. Other Fellowships don't have that problem so much.

Outrun works best. Also posession removal and overload of damage. If you can keep an eye on Sleep a sauron wounding can do more owunds in a turn than pipes can heal. Also nagzuls black breath does wonders.
