With Sent Back, do the wizards in your dead pile count towards your companion count? This is the way I have always played, but I just wanted to be sure.
-
You are correct. Each one in the dead pile counts towards your limit of nine.
-
Okay! Thanks!
-
Pro tip: Use Falls of Rauros to remove one of them from the dead pile, giving you a 10-companion limit!
-
Ooh, that would be sweet! Now, if only I had that card...
-
Go even farther with Falls of Rauros and throw down Traveled Leader after you move there. Then kill someone off and move there again ;)
-
That would bump it up to a maximum of 13 companions!

Well...if you could somehow pull it off at every single move (doubtful but let's say you could), you'd get 9 + 8 = 17...that assumes that you would be able to remove one for the move to site 9, and then play a companion between Maneuever and Regroup (I'm sure there's some kind of companion/card that would do it) :)
-
Army of Rohan, for example...
-
Ah good idea! It'd have to be Riders of the Mark though, not Rohirrim Army, as there would be no Regroup phase :)
-
Running The Red Arrow would do the trick.
-
Erkenbrand can be played during skirmishes too. You can start Isildur or Faramir as RB to play Rohirrim Army with the Red Arrow, and to use New Errand to finish off the minion previously exhausted by Riders of the Mark. Start any companion of cost 2 and Gandalf, LoM to abuse of SftF and the sitepath...

That's not possible, as Falls of Rauros specifies it must be in region 2. So actually the limit is 12 at most. But you can play Gandalf from dead pile over and over again with Well Met Indeed, independantly of that limit; you can spot [Dwarven], [Elven] and even [Gondor] allies for that purpose...
