League Week 1
« on: November 30, 2009, 09:54:19 AM »
Once again, I want to say thank you to everyone who has joined the League. I was worried that it would take a long time to get enough people to start a league, but the LOTR TCG players have really shown how much they enjoy this game.

So lets talk about week 1 in the Fellowship of the Ring Block League.

Ringbearer has secured top spot with a 3-0 standing, with a rating of 1590. Bilbo the Hutt follows closely with a rating of 1565.

GCCG has become busier this week than ever before. Hopefully wlk will be able to provide more tables to manage with all the extra interest we are seeing.

How about a Standard League as well? Why I asked this was because sometimes people want to play Standard over FotR, so might as well have a Standard League. :)

From my point of view, Standard isn't the most popular format.

But one league at a time.
I agree with that.

Perhaps we should generate as much interest as possible before we expand and divide the playing group. Uniting the players group and having a format for new players to learn is the priority (IMO). After 2 weeks, 3 weeks, or whatever, if the interest starts to decline then we should expand (but not abandon what we have started).

It seems Movie block may be the next logical move (seems like alot of people play this format) - FoTR should be promoted for newbies and Movie block for experienced players. However, experienced players need to continue their support of FoTR league to aid new players.

However, from a rules point of view - perhaps we should tackle TTT next.

Well done to Ringbearer  =D>

I will make my appearance in the FotR leaguea as well. Would like to join this League of Extraordinary Gentlemen ;). And Kettie, perhaps we can battle, the two of us. Will come up with something that is not standard, but is fun, ofcourse, hehe.
