Nine Walkers/Hate and Archery
« on: January 07, 2012, 10:28:55 AM »
I know I haven't been around in a while, but I decided it was time to get back into this site.  So I'm giving back in the form of this deck I've been messing around with for a while now.  Here it is:

Frodo, Old Bilbo's Heir
The One Ring, Answer to All Riddles
Gandalf, Friend of the Shirefolk

Sam, Son of Hamfast
Aragorn, Ranger of the North x2
Legolas, Elven Comrade x2
Gimli, Unbidden Guest x2
Bounder
Albert Dreary
Gimli's Battle Axe
Gimli's Helm
Bow of the Galadhrim
Long-Knives of Legolas
Gandalf's Cart
Gandalf's Staff
Glamdring x2
Aragorn's Bow
Ranger's Sword
Sting, Baggins Heirloom x2
The Nine Walkers x3
Trust Me as You Once Did x3
Deep in Thought
Durin's Secret
Servant of the Secret Fire x4

Elite Crossbowmen
Lurtz, Servant of Isengard x2
Ranged Commander x3
Goblin Bowman x4
Goblin Marksman x4
Moria Archer Troop x3
Archer Commander
Uruk Crossbow Troop x4
Uruk Crossbowman x4
Weapons of Isengard x3
They are Coming
Hate and Anger x3
One of You Must Do This x2
Saruman's Power

So the idea for the Free Peoples is to use the Nine Walkers to make the companions cheaper and then take advantage of the Gandalf signet stuff and Gimli/Legolas's abilities.  I'm thinking about using Gandalf's Wisdom possibly to go with that, but I'm not sure.  Also I'm considering using Elrond, Herald to Gil-Galad and Secret Sentinels for better condition removal, but I'm not sure if that is the way to go.

The shadow uses Hate and Anger with archery to try and create some crazy wounding stuff.  It usually preforms pretty well, but I think it could be a little better.  I think that Lurtz could probably come out for something cheaper.  I also need Enquea, LoM in there because that would have helped a lot in the last game I played. He had six companions and I kept exhausting them, but never could finish one off.

I would appreciate any suggestions that people could give.

Swap one of you must do this for saruman's ambition. Less exert but mor twilight for the minions since hate and anger and saruman's power would come out for free.

Saruman's power then promptly discards the saruman's ambiton..... One of you must do this should almost always get two exerts, very few decks don't run greenleaf and Gorn/Boro. Gimli and Gandalf aren't rare either.

Gimli and Legolas are also a popular combination in TS.  I usually don't even play Saruman's Power unless my opponent is abusing conditions or to get rid of things like Saga of Elendil or Tale of Gil-Galad.
