Yep, for each copy of Deathly Roar, you can remove an
 token to exert a companion. So, with 4 copies you could remove 4 tokens to place 4 exertions.

Most useful? Probably either The One Ring, The Ring of Rings, or a good splash companion like Legolas, Greenleaf, Aragorn, Ranger of the North, or Aragorn, Thorongil.
