Yes and no. There’s no damage-spotting requirement for the DC, and it’s also a condition, not an event.

You might want to experiment with Hunters cards. For example...using Aragorn, Thorongil and the new Legolas (Rare). The new Gandalf won’t work, he’s a hobbit-only sort of Gandalf!
