Quite correct. While I actually LIKE having a stack (makes gameplay more tricky, favoring who trains more, knows more, etc), in LotR "resolving" abilities is quite more player-friendly, for begginers ...

That’s right. Playing a card is announcing it, and paying any costs associated with it. If it’s a spell, it goes on the stack. If the spell summons a permanent, and it resolves, the permanent come...

It wouldn’t, because Pithing Needle is a permanent, not a spell (like Conjurer’s Ban). The "as X comes into play" bit denotes it as part of the spell’s resolution.

LotR cards are pictures, made with actors. It’s got a whole other ffeling to them, which is quite cool and different. However, I’m sorry to differ, but artwork beats photographs hands down any day...
