If what you are saying is what I think, then yes. But if you had enough mana for doubling season, you have enough to put three as X on the hatchery. Which means (3^4) counters on hatchery, which is ...

Season doubles hatchery twice, yes. It’s a win condition for six mana(pay 3+3, put you get 6 counters, then can put 12 into play), very worthwhile.

Doubling season also makes summons go for four...
