The problem is, then you lose the damage +1 bonus, so its only a net damage +1 gain, and that’s for discarding the axe.

Tested deck. 2 spell D-storm to swing for 15, followed by a 2 spell Grapeshot/Pyromancer’s Swath to swing for 9, triggering Grapeshot from Spinerock Knoll for 12, total of 21.
