Not with Jarnsmid. You should be able to toss cards long enough to survive until Jarnsmid + Watch and Wait takes out 3 burdens.
That’s what I usually do, unless he gets picked off by a Cantea, BA...

I’ve seen you block with first-strike Kithkins quite often.
However, he has a point in STANDARD. In LRW block, my fav format, blocking is pretty common, and I’d use Dolmen Gate def.
