Well, I can safely declare two winners, at least.
For Matchup #2, elf lvr is the winner with 5 votes (to AP’s 2), and in Matchup #3, lem0nhead has run away with it with 6 votes (to Anvar’s 1). Congrats to you both! And a to AP for Anvar for participating. Thanks guys, and better luck in my next contest!
However, we have a problem for Matchup #1, as both NB and I have tied with 4 votes each. I think a quick 1 on 1 round is in order to decide who moves on, but gimme an hour or two to think of what exactly to do. |
Best regards, Dáin, Vice Aftokrator of the Chosen Ones
Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!
Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North! |

Okay, I think I’ve got it!
To solve the tie between NBarden and I, each of us will create a possession or artifact that our respective Nazgûl can bear. Then we will have a short voting round, and the winner will have their possession/artifact AND their Nazgûl move on.
Hopefully, NB will be prompt with his entry (as he usually is), and between that and the voting, we can move the entire contest forward in just a couple days. |

Well, as I guessed, NB was very prompt.
Here are the two entries. Pick your favorite, and the winner will have both their possession/artifact AND their Nazgul appear in the appropriate one of my sets.
Considering how specific NB’s was, there’s little sense in disguising the names this time. So here we go!
EDIT: At Thranduil’s suggestion, I have put in the original Nazgul NB and I created. You are NOT voting on them again, but if you want to compare how these new possessions/artifacts work with what we already made, then here they are for reference.
NBARDEN:
•Blade of Dol Guldur
Possession • Hand Weapon
Strength: +2
Bearer must be a Nazgul.
While bearer is Ulaire Attea, each time he wins a skirmish, the Free Peoples player must exert a companion or add a burden for each culture in the fellowship.
"Few now have the skill in healing to match such evil weapons..."
•Úlairë Attëa, Winged Predator
Minion • Nazgûl
Strength: 12
Vitality: 3
Site: 3
Fierce.
While you can spot 3 Free Peoples cultures (or 5 burdens), each companion skirmishing Úlairë Attëa loses all strength bonuses from possessions.
Each time Úlairë Attëa wins a skirmish, you may spot 3 Free Peoples cultures to make the Free Peoples player return an unbound companion to hand.
“It wheeled and went north, flying at a speed greater than any wind of Middle-earth. The stars fainted before it. It was gone.”
DÁIN:
•Ring of Malice
Artifact • Ring
Vitality +1
Bearer must be a Nazgûl.
Each time bearer wins a skirmish, you may exert him and remove a threat to exert the Ring-bearer (or add a burden if the Ring-bearer is already exhausted).
Response: If a player reconciles, return bearer to his owner’s hand.
“Cowering back against the rock they drew breath, and then they clutched at their hearts....the Nazgûl sent out its deadly cries.”
•Úlairë Cantëa, Winged Terror
Minion • Nazgûl
Strength: 10
Vitality: 3
Site: 3
Enduring.
While you can spot 3 threats, Úlairë Cantëa is fierce.
Regroup: Exert Úlairë Cantëa twice to add a threat (and discard a possession if you have initiative).
“Already men were breaking away, flying wild and witless here and there, flinging away their weapons, crying out in fear, falling to the ground.”
Please vote by Wednesday morning, January 9th if you’re able. Thanks! |

Congrats Dain.
Noooo! Take it back!
Every time someone has said that when going head-to-head with me, I’ve lost. Seriously.
So take it back, take it back!
Regardless of who wins, I will probably include at least one of your cards anyway, as I’ve done for some cards in past rounds. But it ain’t over yet...there haven’t even been any votes! |

Dang. I like them both. Alot.
I’m going to have to go with Dain, though. Almost went NB.
Good job both. |
