Tweaked both guys as recommended. Thanks!
So far, we’ve had all these companions and possessions. How about some events? How about some skirmish events making use of all these possessions and hunters? How about...these?
Sudden and Terrible
Event • Regroup
Spot a hunter and choose one: wound a minion for each hunter you can spot or reinforce a token for each hunter you can spot.
“All that heard that sound trembled. Many of the Orcs cast themselves on their faces and covered their ears with their claws. Back from the Deep the echoes came, blast upon blast, as if on every cliff and hill a mighty herald stood.”
Riding Swiftly
Event • Skirmish
Make a hunter strength +1 for each possession and artifact he or she bears.
“There was a quick beat of hoofs, and even as Grishnákh leaped up and ran, he was ridden down and a spear passed through him.”
Draw Your Swords!
Event • Skirmish
Toil 1.
Make a valiant Man strength +1 for each hand weapon you can spot (or +2 if that weapon is an artifact).
“Together Éomer and Aragorn sprang through the door, their men close behind. The swords flashed from the sheath as one.” |

Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!
Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North! |

cool!
Riding Swiftly

Make a hunter strength +1 for each possession and artifact he or she bears (limit +5).
“There was a quick beat of hoofs, and even as Grishnákh leaped up and ran, he was ridden down and a spear passed through him.”
make it just rohan man.
Draw Your Swords!
Event • Skirmish
Make a Man strength +1 (limit +6) for each hand weapon you can spot (or +2 if that weapon is an artifact).

So much for Blade Tip... Maybe should only discard one shadow card, otherwise Rohan loses its big weakness against Shadow conditions.

Nice. But isn’t that title already taken? Maybe not.

Should move the limit +6 to the end of the text: "Make a Man strength +1 for each hand weapon you can spot (or +2 if that weapon is an artifact). Limit +6." Or something like that. It’s a little incongruous where it is. Love the lore.

This seems obscene, more so even than the ridiculous equivalents of the and cultures (Hearth and Hall is simply ludicrous). Do something other than discarding Shadow cards - like exerting minions, for example (even though it’s the same as Dwarven Strategem) - or better still, don’t make a version of this card for ! I would be exceedingly wary of basing any DC on cards from Hunters Block.

Take out the limit - who the hell is going to bear more than 5 possessions or artifacts (apart from Durin III)! It’s so high it might as well not be there, and anyway if they want 6 possessions, let them get the bonuses for it.

You’ve got a superfluous bracket there. And take out the limit for this as well and raise the cost to with maybe a toil. Let them go all out, I say!

SoP is off his head! "Cool!"??? The first card is messed up. Thran has hit the nail on the head with all of them. Consider his opinions as mine as well for these 3 |

sorry it was near the end of my spamming spree, and have played with essentially nill hunters and on cards. I just don’t automatically think of the brokenness. |

I’d go with Thran’s idea of exerting minions. Maybe make this cost like the others? And the others were regroup events, right? That addition might make this more balanced. Then you might be able to go with wounding minions instead of exertions...

Hearth and Hall was and a regroup event, but if I remember correctly Dwarven Strategem was and skirmish.

Okay, I (reluctantly) changed Sudden and Terrible to wounding, and to the regroup phase. I wanted something very different from Dwarven Strategem, but I am a man...er, Dwarf of the people, and the people have spoken. Let it be said, let it be done!
Now, before we get too much further along, I realized I hinted at all this villager stuff early on and haven’t done any actual villagers yet! This must be remedied. So why not start with two of the more unusual ones, and a possession to go with them! Enjoy.
•Haleth, Young Warrior
Ally • Home 3 [TTT] & 4 [TTT] • Man
Strength: 4
Vitality: 2
Villager. Archer.
To play, spot 2 Men (or Aragorn and a Man).
Archery: Exert Haleth and spot 3 Free Peoples archers to wound a minion; Haleth does not add to the fellowship archery total.
“‘The men are saying we will not live out the night. They say that it is hopeless.’”
I know, I know...probably horribly OP. But I still think it makes a lot more sense than the awful intripritation Big D had of Haleth. He IS seen firing his bow, what what the heck does he EVER have to do with mounts, Decipher? Lazy.
•Freda, Child of the Westfold
Ally • Home 3 [TTT] • Man
Strength: 1
Vitality: 1
Villager.
Discard Freda if an opponent controls any site 3.
At the start of each turn, you may heal a villager.
“‘I don’t want to go, mama....’”
She’s the little girl you see seperated (with his brother) from her mother as the Dunlendings raze their village, then later as they arrive at Edoras, exhausted, on horseback, then again LATER when they rejoin their mom at Helm’s Deep.
Unlike other villager/ally-healers, she adds another villager you can spot, too!
•Garulf
Possession • Mount
Strength +1
Bearer must be a villager.
Each time the fellowship moves, you may exert X minions, where X is the number of villagers you can spot.
“‘Father says Éothain must not ride Garulf....’”
And here’s the horse that dutifully carries Freda all the way to Edoras, then all the way to Helm’s Deep. Such a stout and faithful beast deserves a card, don’t you think? And with all the moving it did, I figured an ability that keyed on moving also made sense.
The name, incidentally, was not coined by Peter Jackson in the film. It actually DOES appear in Tolkien’s Two Towers...as the name of the RIDER of a horse. Or rather, a former rider...the previous owner of Legolas’ and Gimli’s Arod. The more you know.... *cue cheesy commercial music* |

Why not some villager followers? Allies are all OP if they can fight. As long as you’re not playing on TT site path, this guy is fine.

Again, I’d prefer to see some villager followers as the old allies never really worked.

A little obscene, but I like it, though I’d still prefer if they were followers and it was only while attached to a companion that this triggered making it slightly fairer.
