Game Result
gil-estel’s Beasts / Cycle w/ Wraith Corruption
vs.
my Rainbow Wounding w/ StBOoYV
I bid 2 as I always do with this deck, and as it turned out, he was running corruption. That Shadow side was probably the most powerful corruption deck I have ever faced. It would have torn apart any ARB, but luckily I had Frodo with 16 resistance.
We both opened with doubles to 3 and sustained minor wounds. Region 2 was a flurry of singles, him giving burdens, and me giving wounds. I finally killed Thrarin at 6, and I wound up at 6 with 8 burdens and 8 wounds.
He singled to 7, took a couple of wounds, then doubled to 8. I gave him another healthy dose of archery and then killed Glóin with the Sentry. I singled to 7, took a couple more wounds and burdens, and stopped.
He moved to 9 and I played Sirannon Ruins, which gave me total. I dropped 2 Morgul Creepers and Gothmog. Durin died in archery, which triggered his threats and corrupted Gimli. Good game!
I finished with 10 burdens, and that was only at site 7. Any ARB would have fallen under that strain. And if I hadn’t been able to use my Namarie to discard his Lingering Shadows, things would have been even worse. A VERY good corruption deck, gil-estel. I wouldn’t be surprised to see that deck racking up some wins in the SdA Tournament. |
I had to put something here. |

back at ya! I enjoyed the game very much! This corruptiondeck went very well, but it needs some twilight, willingly (or not) given by AP. It was a hard game, lot’s of thinking went in to it. Namarië is a aweful card, I realy hate it. It is way, way overpowered, its discarding possibility should be limited to two per phase and most definetly ought to be unique. Nelya and Neekerbreeker’s bog is also a bit negative to face and Gothmog isn’t nice either. Well anyway, I enjoyed it, oh and a 16 resistance Frodo isn’t that much fun either
