I come from a Magic: The Gathering background, so big critters have always had a special place in my heart. My love for fast, big, mean creatures has led to the creation of this deck.
Starting Fellowship:
1 Frodo, Courteous Halfling
1 One Ring, Answer to All Riddles
1 Merry, Unquenchable Hobbit
1 Pippin, Just a Nuisance
1 Quickbeam, Bregalad
Free Peoples:
2 Birchseed, Tall Statesman
4 Forest Guardian
4 Ent Moot
1 Ent Horde
1 Treebeard, Earthborn
3 Hobbit Sword
2 Host of Fangorn
2 Long Slow Wrath
2 Mind Your Own Affairs
2 Roused
2 Severed His Bonds
2 Enraged
Shadow:
4 Southron Bowman
2 Southron Invaders
3 Southron Traveler
2 Southron Wanderer
4 Elite Archer
4 Mumak
1 Desert Lord
2 Desert Spearman
2 Arrow from the South
3 On the March
3 Whirling Strike
Adventure:
Western Emyn Muil
Fangorn Forest
Golden Hall
White Rocks
Helm’s Gate
Hornburg Armory
Cavern Entrance
Nan Curinir
Saruman’s Laboratory
Basically, you want to race to the finish and force your opponent to try and keep up. Your Southron archers will provide the constant injury and the Spearman or Whirling Strike will finish off injured companions. Mumak mounts provide the final blow. Keep the pressure on, because your high-vitality Ents can survive battle after battle. Plus, the hobbits are no slouches. When equipped with a hobbit sword, they can cause some havoc on their own. Use Treebeard to keep them coming, because a couple of twilight is a bargain to bring back these little warriors.
In essence, the is a nice LOTR deck for a Magic fan, since it uses some of the favorite themes: big critters (Ents), recursion (hobbits, with Treebeard), and direct damage (archers). I hope you enjoy my deck, and reply if you have any suggestions.
Thanks!

Beautiful Deck I used to have something similar for a Towers Block Tournament about 2 years ago, and it was nice:) It reminds me of the good old days when the first Ents came along...
Keep it up, old-school still rules |
