From my understanding Tolkien didn’t like allegorical writing.
Since all the of Narnia books are allegorical in nature that is the main reason why Tolkien didn’t like them at all.
He also objected to anyone trying to make The Lord of The Rings allegorical.

he also objected to people calling the lord of the rings a trilogy, he said it was six different books that often get lumped incorectly into three books instead of six, i just thought that was interesting Very Happy

Each of the trilogy is divided into two books, technically making six.

you can’t tell me that all of tolkien’s ideas were original, thats impossible. I’ve read in a few places that the idea behind LOTR is from a European folk lore called "Ring of the Neibalungs" which was made into a movie last year called "Dark Kingdom: the Dragon King". wiether that it true or not I don’t know, but I watched it, liked it alot. but still, tolkien wasn’t 100% original.

Of corse not. he got his ideas from fairy tails, legonds, there were elves in fairy tails, like that story about the elves and the cobbler, he just sortof made them tougher.

yes, he also changed trolls into strong warriors even though most books with trolls in them at the time made them weak, like smurfs Wink
