I’d rather play normal TCG. |
I don't have an avatar, I don't have a sig, my posts speak for themselves. |

Cool idea, CG, but I agree with Gagnut. |
I had to put something here. |

Where does the twilight come from, except FP cards? Otherwise, I could see a very easy choke deck. And no fun for the minions.
That’s what I was wondering. I’d include only 0-cost things, unless twilight was added from sites or something. |

It’s actually ingold’s idea...
And it looks like, according to the rules, you do add twilight for companions. So, here’s a nice moria swarm that works off of only and can play up to six minions! That’s a three-minion swarm against the RB, unless there’s d +1 companions in the fellowship!
Goblin Runner 3x
Goblin Backstabber 3x
Host of Thousands 4x
Simple but deadly. All you have to do is play the runner for , and then you add . Keep playing runners until you max out. This means that you’ve got in the pool!! Host of Thousands should help to get those minions out. If you could play 30-card, I’d throw in 4x Goblin Scimitar, and another backstabber.
And a choke fellowship:
Frodo, Protected by Many
The One Ring, the Ring of Doom
Any two men that you want to put in.
One of the companions 3x
The other companion 3x
No Travellers in This Land 4x
Basically, use No Travellers to wound all the minions, and use the additional copies of the companions to heal your companions back up. Frodo should help with getting the cards you need. |

Here’s my suggested modifications to the rules:
There are sites. You bring 5 sites along with the deck. This Adventure deck should be shuffled. You may only have 3 sites with the same Shadow number. (Lower this to 2?)
After the Fellowship Phase, the other player reveals the top card of their Adventure Deck. (BTW, this should be Shadows only). You add for each companion, and then add twilight for the revealed site’s Shadow number. The site’s game text applies to the turn. If there are fellowship actions on it, they may be taken at this point.
At the end of the turn, the player shuffles the site back into their Adventure Deck. It is no longer active.
Here’s my revised swarm for 20 card.
Goblin Backstabber 3x
Goblin Scavengers
Goblin Scimitar 3x
Host of Thousands 3x
Use Host to play Scavengers from your discard to get a scimatar out. Also play your backstabbers with this. Goblin Scimitar can help get the cards you need into your hand. It’s , not hard if you pack three sites into your deck. |

this is my attempt to look cool.

Here’s also my advice for adopting it to SDA (because it only allows decks that conform to standard deckbuilding rules...):
For the Adventure deck, stick in illegal (read: Pre-Shadows) sites, if it lets you. Then, so that you can put 20 cards into the deck, just put in twenty format-illegal cards for each side. You could just go down the X-list, and put in 4x of the X-listed cards. Then, just search your deck in the beginning of the game, and put those cards way off to the side. |

Here’s a cool Gollum shadow for 20 Card Expanded:
Gollum, Stinker
Gollum, Old Villain
We Must Have It 4x
You’re a Liar and a Thief 2x
Web 2x
Basically, make sure Gollum keeps winning skirmishes with We Must Have It and Old Villain’s ability. Wipe out both of their companions, one by one, and then you’ve got Gollum vs. Frodo (or the ARB). Then, once you’re down to just those two, play Gollum, Old Villain and do the "hand drop" for a +16 strength boost!! I think that overwhelms most RB’s.
I actually playtested a similar shadow in a 4-player 20-Card Game, and this shadow wiped out two of its three opponents!
I’ve paired it with dwarves, because with 2 companions + Hand Axe and an axe on each dwarf (Flurry of Blows! ), and then this shadow, you’ve got all but 10 cards filtered out of your deck. So you’ll have almost all of the cards in hand.
Sample Dwarf FP:
Gimli, Bearer of Grudges RB
The One Ring, the Ring of Rings
Linnar, Dwarven Lord
Durin III, Dwarven Lord
Hand Axe 3x
Gimli’s Battle Axe, trusted Weapon
Dwarven Axe 2x
Flurry of Blows 2x |
