Just a few thoughts...


3 •Anduril Gondor
Great Blade

Possession hand weapon
Strength 3
Damage +1

Bearer must be Aragorn.
This weapon may not be borne in addition to any other hand weapon. Discard all other hand weapons already borne.
Regroup: Exert Aragorn twice to take a Gondor event into hand from your discard pile.

1 •Sam’s Sword Shire
Barrow Blade

Possession hand weapon
Strength +2

Bearer must be Sam.
Assignment: Wound Sam to wound each Moria minion assigned to him.

2 •Sting Shire
Family sword

Possession hand weapon
Strength +2

Bearer must be Frodo or Bilbo
Each minion assigned to bearer must exert.
Regroup: Exert bearer twice to discard a minion.

3 •Hadafang Elven
Elven Blade

Possession hand weapon
Strength +2

Bearer must be Elrond.
Maneuver: If you do not have initiative, discard two cards from hand to make Elrond strength +2.

3 •Witch king’s sword [nazgul]
Blade of Fire

Possession hand weapon
Strength +3

Bearer must be the Witch King.
Shadow: If The Witch King is damage +2, exert twice him to discard a staff.
Shadow: If The Witch King is damage +3, exert him to wound a Gandalf companion.

4 •Narsil Gondor
Orc Bain

Possession hand weapon
Strength +2
Damage +2

Bearer must be Aragorn, Isildur, or Elendil.
Each time the fellowship moves, add a threat.
Fellowship: Exert bearer twice to reveal an opponents hand, make that opponent discard a minion at random from hand. (or two orcs).

3 •Galmdring Gandalf
Wizard’s sword

Possession hand weapon
Strength +2
Damage +1

Bearer must be Gandalf.
Regroup: Exert Gandalf twice to take a spell into your hand from your discard pile.

3 •Boromir’s sword Gondor
Gondorian Blade

Possession hand weapon
Strength +2
Damage +1

Bearer must be Boromir.
Skirmish: exert Boromir twice to cancel a skirmish involving a Shire companion. That minion may exert twice to prevent this.

2 •Haldir’s Sword Elven

bearer must be Haldir.

Possession hand weapon
Strength +2

Skirmish: exert Haldir twice to prevent an Elven companion from being overwhelmed unless his strength is tripled.

Very powerful. Very very powerful. I love it! Very Happy

Interesting... but Moria is almost dead anyway.

A BIT powerful...

WOW! Shocked It gets better as its bearer gets better?

Very nice, but also very powerful.

3 •Galmdring Gandalf

I see... spells are good.

3 •Boromir’s sword Gondor

Ok. I like it. Boromir ring-bearer with ring of rings, and this sword. Nice.

okay...


I think most of them are overpowered. Just because you increase the twilight cost doesn’t mean the cards can be sooooooo great, IMHO.

Add this game text: "When you play this on Aragorn, discard all other weapons he bears." Also, edit the text "hand weapon" to read "weapon." Aragorn can only bear one hand weapon by default! (not including Knife of the Galadhrim or Flaming Brand)
I love the ability, but the strength should be +2, like the other Andurils. Anduril, Flame of the West gives a vitality bonus, but this one gives you a damage bonus, so that’s hunki-dori.

Make it "to wound each Orc assigned..."-although then you’ve basically got a Frying Pan.

Regroup: Exert bearer twice to discard a minion.
Nice-I love the Rider’s Mount feel to it...and this would rock with Unheeded and Shadowplay!!

Interesting Maneuver action qualifier...but I get your meaning: basically, you ditch all but one or two cards. Nice card, but why can’t Arwen bear it too?

Bearer must be the Witch King.
Shadow: If The Witch King is damage +2, exert him to discard a staff.

The first Shadow action is waaay overpowered. I mean, being able to discard Gandalf’s staff with one puny exertion??

Good...although change "Sauron orcs" to "Orc orcs". And drop the damage bonus to damage +1.

Now that’s a cool way to do the "Boromir, Hobbit Protector" theme. Especially with Unheeded!

2 •Guthwine Rohan

bearer must be Eomer.
Each time you assign Eomer to a skirmish involving an Uruk Hai, exert that minion.

Up the strength...compare to Herugrim.

Nice weapon, I like the threat thing...but maybe give it a limit? Otherwise, it’s easy to splash Fourth Level into a ranger deck and heal with Citadel of Minas Tirith and Invigorated.

In answere to the question you asked, yes he had a sword.

In the book it talks about him dismounting his horse and fighting ugluk sword to sword.
