yeah... I’m pretty sure zoo has been stimping gruul in the standings for top decks for a while now. Gruul just isn’t fast enough to compete with other agressive decks, and doesn’t have the staying power against control since it has less burn. |

Well this last week in the standards, gruul is on the T20 and Zoo isn’t, and last week Gruul was even higher. I remember starting an article over the summer and Gruul was I think6th and Zoo was 14th... |

Well the end of the month is coming, and I don’t want to forget to vote. I’m giving this a four because it was a very informative, in-depth article, but I thought guilds and a few more deck choices should be covered. Also, in general, you could have used XXX is good against agro decks with this general theme because blah blah and YYY is good against control because it stops them from blah blah blah over deck-by-deck.
Still, very solid, well written! |

Thanks, Grail! That Guild part you asked me about will be up and running tonight, if you wanna come back and check it out! I just found exactly that in an "Ask Wizards", so I’m gonna add up to it a little, do some tweaking, and post it tonight. |

I’m not sure ledgewalker, sophisticate, plaxmanta, bathe in light, scorched rusalka, faith’s fetters, or last gasp belong in the guild you listed. I really like the transferring of theme to cards, but I think you’re starting to overapply the concepts into cards that don’t really relate to the guild and are just frequently found in decks with the other listed cards. |

Not really. If you check out what’s being said in the Wizards website, they treat the Ravnica block as having 10 guilds, not 5 colors. So, of course, guild/golden cards are SURE to depict the guild, since they ARE the same colors, but the other cards, even mono-colored ones, WERE designed to fit into a guild’s theme, so for instance, Last Gasp IS a Golgari Card, even if it’s more commonly found in some Orzhov decks, and Compulsive Research IS a Dimir Card, even though it’s more commonly found in... ehr... pretty much any deck that uses ...
And that’s what I wanted to show when I added those cards. If you keep this in mind and read again, you’ll see those cards fall very well into those guilds. The only one I had some doubt was Char, but the Izzet guild IS quoted in the flavor text, so... |

Char is one of the few easiest to defend, actually. After all, it’s an izzet guildmage shooting off that spell. |
