And let’s face it, it IS fun. I wish I had more friends who played MTG ’round here, and boosters weren’t so expensive. I actually have only 2 friends that play, and only one of those actually buys cards. And not that much, either. So I’m kind of a lone player... Great I have you guys for feedback! |

| Yeah. I’m having issues because a ton of seniors who graduated last year were involved... but I’m still plugging away! Maybe I’ll leave more MTG at my school than it started with. |

Where is Magus of the Mirror in this debate? I realize many people consider him junk but such a powerful effect must surely click for some combo deck somewhere.

Imagine:

stay alive for turns 1-3, maybe drop a signet

play magus of the mirror turn 4 or 5

activate him, then target your opponent with a Cerebral Vortex, dealing 9, then another one or a Reiterate, dealing 11.

| That’s a lot of mana, but true, he could be okay. I just don’t really like expensive creatures that require tapping and are helixable and gaspable. I don’t know... I guess you could build a deck around it, but the only non-heartbeat combo deck I’ve seen in standard has been izzet-spike, which wasn’t really very good. I don’t think combo is going to fly with so much powerful destruction and countermagic in the set right now. |
