Berethor sat in a dark corner, in searing pain. Blood still dripped through his chest, and every time he tried to pull off the arrows that hit him, they only moved an inch, and he stopped, wincing in pain. "Who knows, maybe if I bleed long enough I might..." and with this thought, he slowly lied down, out of sight, and closed his eyes... |
I don't like YOU. |

When Ithildon came back, but didn’t have Berethor, Durail instantly became concerned.
"Continue the meeting Tuilin! I will be back!"
Durail left the tent in a rush. Berethor was close Durail knew. after searching a while, Durail was ready to give up when he heard a groan. He spun around. there lay Berethor, arrow pertruding from his chest. He was alive! quickly Durail ran over, ripped off the arrow head, and pulled the arrow out. pulling a salve from his belt, Durail spread some on the wound. HE then pulled a small flask from his belt, and poared some down Berethor’s throat. (rangers are always prepared)
realizing Durial couldn’t pick him up by himself. Durail called others over and the men carried Berethor to the medic tent. |

Tuilin watched Durail run out and then turned and spoke "The question we need to address is basic but extremely important. Do we stay on the defensive or go on the offensive?" the commanders talked among themselves for a bit before Tuilin spoke again"I think we should wait untill Durail comes back to make a final decision. IN the meantime other questions we need to answer are, How many goblins and trolls are left? where are they based? how many leaders do they have? would killing them end the battle? " The leaders conferred again while Tuilin sat down. |

"If i may my friends", spoke Corvus a bit louder than usual so as to let the others know he was going to say something, and not seem to want to overpower their voices at the same time: "The first thought to cross my mind, is to guard the secret passage which the orcs used to launch the assault on your forces. Since it’s closer to the surface than the fort, i suggest posting a team made more of elves and men, since the Naugrim are better fighters in the dark than the rest of us, and counting on the enemy forces, we will need each and every one of them in the levels below".
"Should you launch another attack", carried on the elf, "i advice you to learn of the battle between the Olorin and the Balrog first, to better estimate what the enemy forces are", and speaking with a light feeling of irony in high pitched voice he claimed: "that is, IF THEY STILL HAVE A BALROG ON THEIR SIDE, or not".
Walking a few steps among the leaders, he stopped and said: "I cannot aid you much for i have been given information by Gidor Inglorion of a threat which has awokened here in Khazad-Dum, so i shall venture to counter it on my own. As soon as Lord Durail returns, i shall greet you and carry on in my mission. After i am finished, i shall return to aid you in any way i can".
With those words, Corvus walked again among the leaders and awaited for Durail to return, or another person to propose a battle plan. |

Durail returned, he slipped in quietly and listened while Corvus talked and left. Durail remained in the shadows for several moment, he then made himself known.
"There are many risk factors involved. two things....
one who has more men? in this case it would be the goblins.
two who knows the terrain better? the goblins!
however we have several war veterans! we must even the odds! we fight horribly here in the darkness and gloom! i say we get the dwarven crafts men to make the area more friendly; then open the upper windows to let real light into the room! we need to learn the area around us, and get to know it like your own homes.
note that that the goblins have ambushed several times, and have led several attacks. we must counter ambush! the dwarves are great warriors, but we have several groups gondor, elves, men of rohan... we need to let them all fight to their highest levels.
here is my stratagy: the men of gondor form a shield and spear wall. the men of rohah form a cup shape. dwarves are behind the men of rohan. the elves form behind the dwarves. rangers are in the shadows...
when the goblins attack, the men of gondor form funnel formation, the goblins run through the funnel, and the men of rohan open too release two legions of dwarves. the dwarves will take the goblins head on, while the men of rohan strike both flanks of the goblins.
the elves are hidden in the shadows on the sides. when the goblins are trapped, the elves spray them with arrows. the men and dwarves open up, and the goblins "escape", they then run into the rangers that have laid hidden.
thus a goblin army is smashed. this is only my idea though, and it will only work if they attack us." Durail looked stern and hard at his commanders. " THis plan MUST be carried out to supreme perfection! I am grieved that i must leave this group, but there is something i must do." Durail bowed. "farewell my friends! i will try and come back soon!" Durail walked quietly out, he seemed bent and troubled. He must once again face the darkness of moria. |

Lyon listened to the proceedings with great amusement. Each leader seemed to have his own plan to enact, but before carrying it out, was taken away on some important business. However odd he found this, Lyon had no intention of following any of them.
No matter what he had intended, it sort of just happened.
Lurking in the shadows, Lyon followed Corvus, wherever he may lead. |

Tuilin looked around discouraged. Lyon, Corvus, and Durail were gone. Lyon and Durail being the only leaders he knew. With a sigh he said to the remaining leaders I say we set up Durail’s counter-ambush. They all said Ai! and preparations began. The Dwarven engineers started opening up windows while the rest of the army repaired armor, weapons, and themselves.
"This plan might work" thought Tuilin "Except we lost our main leader to who knows where"
(should i have followed you guys? answer in the OCC and the bad guys don’t know what we are doing.) |

"If we want this to work we have to do exactly as Durail said. We need
someone to lead the men of Gondor, the men of Rohan, and the Elves.
Without Durail we’ve lost our Ranger leader. But I think the Dwarves can handle themselves.",Felendier sighed deeply,"We all know there is little
hope, but whatever hope is left in you use it now be strong. This day Moria shall be free!" |

No sooner had Durail finished talking than Corvus quietly left the tent of the meeting. He soon emerged into the shadows of Moria, no more or less becoming a shadow himself. "What should i do?.... Should i face him directly?...." whispered the elf to himself. "To what extend have his powers left him?", but before he had finished his thought, he felt a shadow following him. Swiftly and silently, Corvus drew his dark blade and said: "Who are you?"
The dark figure walked towards the ranger. Lyon’s face slowly appeared in the dim twilight of the torches. Corvus seathed his sword and laughed: "Lyon, you scared the s...soul out of me ( )". "I fell that you are needed by the mustered forces," he carried on to say "but your path is your own to choose. Same goes for me of cource."Closing his eyes, and with a faint sigh, Corvus spoke in a deep low voice: "I have come here for i have learned from my friend Gildor, the descendant of Nom the wise that Corax is here." With an obvious feeling of disgust, the elf carried on: "he is the second brother of D’Sparil. As you well know i have given my oath to slay everyone affiliated with the serpent rider."
With a calm voice and a tone of vigour in it Corvus said: "Long had he poisoned the minds of the Easterlings and the speaking trolls of North-East Harad. After i tracked him down, with the ending of THE great battle, he fled to Mirkwood, just as his master once had. From there i lost his trails because of the vast forest, and it was only lately that i heard from Elrond that he had returned to Moria, hiding in its darkness to recover from his power’s loss. His evil powers mostly faided with the defeat of Sauron."
With a dark look in his kin eyes, he carried on: "Now i have come to slay him. Nothing more and nothing less. I shall remove his life as his brother removed mine. For i have no joy in life, because of him. I want D’Sparil’s spirit never to rest. As will mine...." Facing his kinsman, Corvus asked: "What is thy choise Lyorithilyn Elstar?" |

Lyon’s face hardened for a moment at the mention of his surname. But he quickly recovered and spoke again: "If these troubles stem from Mirkwood, then perhaps your battle is mine as well. Darkness has fallen there, and I fear some dark lord has taken hold. I have been studying a manuscript written by one Silvar Qualinesti, son of a servant to the palace, and he speaks of some dark power residing beneath the shadowy halls of Mirkwood. It is there that our next move will be made. If through our ventures in Moria we can learn more of this, I am with you fully." |
