I was planning on having the other two cards in the set focus on this little idea, although as I start to make them (by the end of this post) I may reform...If so, I’ll go back and change the others.
Easterling Spearman
Minion • Man
Strength: 7
Vitality: 2
Site Number: 4
Easterling.
Skirmish: Exert this minion and discard 2 cards from hand (or a possession from play) to make a minion damage +1.
SD C 55
Flying Wild
Event • Skirmish
Make a minion damage +1.
SD C 56
Ok, yeah. Theme stayed and in a future set I’ll probably continue it.
Edit: Oh yeah, I changed what you suggested, menace. |

Quote: Axeman of Rhun
Minion • Man
Strength: 10
Vitality: 3
Site Number: 4
Easterling.
Each time this minion is made damage +1, make it fierce until the regroup phase.
SD C 52
Nice.
Quote: •Easterling Commander
Minion • Man
Strength: 13
Vitality: 3
Site Number: 4
Easterling.
Maneuver: Exert this minion to make it damage +1 until the Regroup phase.
Maneuver: Exert this minion twice to make another minion damage +1 until the regroup phase.
SD R 53
The first ability seems like it could be too powerful. I would add a small cost, such as removing .
Quote: Easterling Rear Guard
Minion • Man
Strength: 11
Vitality: 4
Site Number: 4
Easterling.
Response: If a minion that is damage +1 is about to take a wound, exert this minion to prevent that wound.
SD C 54
Awesome.
Quote: Easterling Spearman
Minion • Man
Strength: 7
Vitality: 2
Site Number: 4
Easterling.
Skirmish: Exert this minion and discard 2 cards from hand (or a possession from play) to make a minion damage +1.
SD C 55
I think he deserves 8 strength.
Quote: Flying Wild
Event • Skirmish
Make a minion damage +1.
SD C 56

Flying Wild works, but it doesn’t feel like a Raider card. Their events are generally more powerful (such as yours), but are always more expensive to boot.
I’d give it a cost of 2 at the very least; probably 3. There are plenty of ways for the Raider player to generate pool in the skirmish. |

Time for some more cards. Let’s go with . Here are the Good cards.
Not That Way
Event • Response
If the fellowship moves to one of your sites, exert Smeagol to remove a burden.
SD C 29
Serve Master Well
Event • Skirmish
If Frodo is the Ring-bearer, add a burden to make Smeagol strength +4 (or +2 if you can spot Sam).
SD U 30
Sneak
Event • Fellowship
Toil 2.
Spot Smeagol to reveal a card at random from an opponent’s hand. Remove X burdens where X is the twilight cost of the card revealed.

This is just off the cuff, but I don’t like seeing too many Gollum cards that are just quotes from the movie. It’s a personal issue (and one I have trouble with whenever I make Gollum cards). Oh well. I guess that’s just a cultural element.
Anywho, Is this FP or SH? I could see uses for it either way. I like it, though.

Hmm. I think it’s too "simple" a strength pump for Smeagol.
Maybe:
If Frodo is your Ring-bearer, add a burden to make Smeagol strength +4 (or damage +1 if you spot Sam).

Exert Smeagol 3 times to reveal a card at random from an opponent’s hand. Remove X burdens where X is the twilight cost of the card revealed.
SD R 31
Honestly, this would never be used in its current form. 5 twilight and 3 exerts for possibly nothing?
Maybe try adding Toil 2 or something, then have it just spot Smeagol. I dunno. The payoff still isn’t good enough, in my opinion.
Keep ’em coming! |

I think there is a card titled not this way. which is quite similar but otherwise a balanced card
Serve Master Well
Event • Skirmish
Spot Frodo to make Smeagol strength +4 (or +2 if you can spot Sam).
SD U 30
again balanced another good DC
Sneak
Event • Fellowship
Exert Smeagol 3 times to reveal a card at random from an opponent’s hand. Remove X burdens where X is the twilight cost of the card revealed.
SD R 31
Make it Toil 2 and kill the exert smeagol part like M64 said IMO |

Made changes on all of the cards in the ways you suggested, except for the damage +1 part for spotting Sam. I kept that the same.
I’ll have the shadow cards up later. |

I’ll warn you now, is a weak creating culture for me.
Carried Burden
Condition
To play, exert Gollum. Bearer must be an unbound companion. (Limit 1 per companion.)
While you can spot Gollum, bearer is strength -2.
SD U 26
•Give Us That
Condition • Support Area
To play, spot 4 burdens.
Each time a burden is added, you may exert Gollum to add a threat.
SD C 27
He Wants It
Event • Shadow
Play Gollum from your draw deck or discard pile to add a burden.
SD U 28
We Shall Find It
Event • Regroup
Spot 4 burdens and exert Gollum to exert the Ring-bearer.
SD C 32
What Were You Doing?
Event • Regroup
Exert Gollum twice to play the fellowship’s next two sites (or replace existing sites with sites from your own adventure deck).
SD R 33 |

maybe make it unbound companion or while bearer has resistance (insert number here) or less bearer is strength -2

pretty balanced I don’t think it should be a common though.

Event • Shadow

captured by the ring eh? anyway IDK it almost seems to good maybe make it 2 twilight
We Shall Find It
Event • Regroup
Spot 4 burdens and exert Gollum twice to exert the Ring-bearer.
SD C 32
every set has to have some not so great cards
What Were You Doing?
Event • Regroup
Exert Gollum twice to play the fellowship’s next three sites (or replace existing sites with sites from your own adventure deck).
SD R 33
way overpowered make it 2 sites. (wait is this a fellowship or shadow card? if fellowship you could keep it if not change it.) |
