one of my favorite minions has always been Orc Archer Troop. Wow, so many ways to hurt the fellowship... hehe. |

Gollum. With 4x Slippery as Fishes and 4x Chasm’s Edge, that’s +12 strength AT LEAST. Add that too Stinker, Mad Thing, Hopeless, or any of the other gollums that gain strength (discarding cards and removing threats, I forget their subtitles.) THEN you get They Stole It/Promise Keeping/Not This Time! stuff, DaD with Little Snuffler, and Incited/YaLaaT... Gollum is a nearly unstoppable minion. Add in shelob and cards like final strike, and archery and IB can go down too... I love gollum, the culture and the minion.
The Witch-King is another one of my favorites. In FotR block, a WK with a pale blade was nearly enough to make some fellowships cry (esp. with blade tip, black breath, and morgul blade), and now we have a Toil W-K and nazgul cards that can add twilight and replay minions... as well as ways to reduce twilight cost further, and ways to get a hand full of nazzies... you can easily pull a 6 minion swarm, with a W-K, CotNR at its head. Or simply throw him with a mount and Black Flail, and watch durin go pale!
I also love decks that use gollum’s tricks (or others) to play the Balrog or Sauron multiple times. It’s fun for me to see my opponent facing a fourth or fifth sauron muttering, "This is getting old..." |

I also forgot to add that The Balrog Terror of Khazad Dum with Balrog’s Sword and The Balrog Terror of Flame and Shadow with the Whip that makes him fierce are personal favorites of mine. |

I’d have to agree with WKBC by saying the Easterling Captain makes one helluva tasty cereal, but if I were to suggest one myself, I would go for a minion that can multiply into a beastly one...
My suggestion...
GOBLIN RUNNER!!!!
With this guy, you can have not one beastly minion, but beastly minions on nearly every companion. Out of the box people!
Ancient Chieftain, I believe, is the minion with the potential to be the strongest minion in the entire game isn’t he. I know the Morgul Warden has a similar ability, but the Sauron culture doesn’t have the twilight producing/minion to the extent the Moria culture does. Just my take though. |

There is one minion to rule them all ultimately. Easterligns add 6-7 burdens with their well-known ways, and down goes Ulaire Enquea, lieutenant of morgul with not easily destroyed and ring of rancor..... |

Lieutenant of Morgul is sooooo good. His ability is great for taking down their best companion, and making the Freeps regret playing 6 companions. He’s definitely one of the best splash minions. |
