So I was rummaging through my old things today and I came across a blue notebook.

I immediately recognized it as my notebook from freshman year of high school (so 5 years ago) and I found some interesting card-related things.

First there are several pages (full) for my first pass at a SW/LotR Cross game. The cultures were Empire, Gangster, Jedi Knights, Rebellion, Skywalker, Scavengers, Smugglers and Vader.

I wrote out (by hand!!) every card in the 251-card set through the Rebellion culture, and many of the card titles I used then have found their way through every incarnation of this game idea.

After that, there are pages of DCs I came up with. I made these right as Battle of Helm’s Deep came out.

Here they are, unaltered in any way.

4 •Saruman, Instagator of Men Isengard
Minion • Wizard
Strength-8
Vitality-4
Roaming-4
Saruman may not be assigned to a skirmish and may not take archery fire.
Your Isengard men are each strength +1.
Response: If an Isengard Man wins a skirmish the Free Peoples player must wound a companion.

2 •Grima, Man With Evil Tidings Isengard
Minion • Isengard
Strength-4
Vitality-3
Roaming-3
While you can spot Theoden and not Gandalf, Grima may not take wounds.
Maneuver: Exert Grima to play a possession on your Isengard man.

2 •Hama, Doorward of Theoden Rohan
Companion • Man
Strength-6
Vitality-3
Signet-Theoden
Each possession you play on Theoden is twilight cost -1.
Response: If your Rohan possession is about to be discarded, exert Hama to prevent it.

2 •Lay Aside Your Weapons Rohan
Condition
To play, exert a Rohan man. Plays to your support area.
Response: If your Rohan hand weapon is discarded, stack it here instead.
Fellowship: Add 1 to take a hand weapon stacked here into hand.

3 •Theodred, Second Marshall of Riddermark Rohan
Companion • Man
Strength-6
Vitality-3
Signet-Theoden
Valiant.
The twilight cost of 1 other Rohan man in your starting fellowship is -1.
Response: If an opponent’s man loses a skirmish, spot another valiant companion to discard that minion.

0 Gazed With Dark Eyes Isengard
Event
Skirmish: Make an Isengard man strength +2 (or +3 if you spot an exhausted companion).

2 Somewhat Lessened Of Late Gandalf
Event
Regroup: Spot Gandalf to discard an Isengard man.

4 Tattered Cloak Aside Gandalf
Event
Skirmish: Make Gandalf strength +1 for each minion you spot.

2 •Drim, Grima’s Counsel Isengard
Minion • Man
Strength-4
Vitality-2
Roaming-3
Response: If your Isengard man is about to take a wound, exert Drim to prevent it.

[Site 3] Edoras 1
Shadow: Play an Isengard man to add 1.

[Site 2] The Entwade 2
Each Ent is strength +1 while at this site.

2 Irksome Guests Isengard
Event
Skirmish: Make a companion skirmishing an Isengard man strength -2 (except the Ring-bearer).

2 Summon All Who Dwell Nigh Rohan
Condition
Strength +1
Bearer must be a Rohan companion. Limit one per bearer.
Maneuver: Exert bearer to make a Rohan ally strength +3 and participate in archery fire and skirmishes until the regroup phase.

1 •Grima’s Sword Isengard
Possession • Hand Weapon
Strength +2
Bearer must be an Isengard man.
If bearer is Grima, he is damage +1, and whenever he wins a skirmish the Free Peoples player must wound a companion.

1 Wormtongue’s Whisperings Isengard
Condtion
Bearer must be a companion.
Skirmish: Spot an Isengard man and discard this condition to make bearer strength -1.

(At first glance, I thought that was a lousy card, but then I remembered Grima, Wormtongue. How awesome would this combo be?!

1 Saruman’s Snakes Isengard
Event
Skirmish: Make an Isengard man strength +1 for each other Isengard man you spot.

1 •Guthwine Rohan
Possession • Hand Weapon
Strength +2
Bearer must be Eomer.
He is damage +1.
Each Uruk-hai skirmishing Eomer is strength -2.

2 •Twill, Grima’s Bodyguard Isengard
Minion • Man
Srength-5
Vitality-2
Roaming-3
This minion is strength +1 for each hand weapon involved in the same skirmish.

1 Isengard Dagger Isengard
Possession • Hand Weapon
Strength +2
Bearer must be an Isengard man.
Shadow: Exert bearer to draw a card or to discard a card from hand.

4 •Tolk, Lieutenant of Wormtongue Isengard
Minion • Man
Strength-7
Vitality-3
Roaming-3
Fierce.
Whenever this minion wins a skirmish, you may make the Free Peoples player discard 2 cards at random from hand.

1 The Two Towers Sauron
Event
Shadow: Spot a Sauron Orc to play a Sauron condition from your Discard Pile.

Next was a petty attempt at a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles / LotR Cross game. I promptly gave up.

Next was a SWCCG set I was working on, called Heir to the Empire (guess what it was based on).

Towards the back, there are some random SWCCG sites I came up with.

When I came to Abraham I let him live just a moment longer. When I came to Moses I saved his life more than once. But the salmon... I regret to say I had a hand in its death.
