yes, you are definitely right about it not being very powerful compaired to the other swords, and Aragorn’s Bow was not in the book. but i like the new sword for this reason:
Aragorn + RoS Anduril + Rangers cloak + Knife of the Galadhrim + the saga of elindil + Aragorn’s Bow
gets you (potentially) 6 wounds in the archery phase. combine that with legolas, greenleaf + aiglos + the tale of gil-galad and that adds another 4. |

The Bow is bothersome in it’s own light. For a tool that got all of two arrows nocked in it over the whole of the film trilogy (which is the only excuse for it’s existance in the game),
Rise of Saruman’s Anduril: the Blade that Wasn’t Broken.
Remember in Moria? he fires it in the cave and then at the archers a lot.
Anyway it still looks really sweet. |

Yes, it sucks.
It’s overly conditional, even more so than the first two. And I do include King’s Blade in that as it was entirely a waste in the first place in anything but a deck that continually cleaned house on threats (read "none"). Either a site must be controlled, or your opponent must have a condition on one of your companions for it to go off.
Disagree, new Anduril is very good. If it could discard any condition, it would be broken. It gives 2 strenght, 1 vitality and damage +1 if I remember corectly. It is good against site control, now reflections Eleindil can be retired. Discarding condition from companion is excelend, many shadows don’t use this technik, but strongest shadow(forest nazgul) use Lost in the woods.
Best thing is new Aragorn in Rohan culture with new Anduril, and now Rohan can discard Lost in the woods. |

I disagree with the analysis of Anduril, Sword That Was Broken so far. Sure, it’s not as good as Anduril, Flame of the West, but even FotW is a poor choice for some decktypes as it prevents Aragorn from carrying his Bow or Knife.
The new version kicks the snot out of Anduril, King’s Blade as far as I’m concerned! All it takes is a single threat, which the Shadow player can easily add with City Gates at exactly the wrong moment, and Aragorn’s mighty weapon is reduced to a perfectly boring (and very expensive) strength +2 sword. With the new Anduril, on the other hand, you’ll always have strength +2, vitality +1, and damage +1, which already makes for a playable card. Sword That Was Broken is definitely the version to play in combination with Aragorn’s Bow (old or new), and the slight possibility of some Gondor condition removal is just gravy.
I’m not impressed with the Warg, but then I neNOLINKver liked those nasty buggers... |

So, with warg and sword, all you can get is 15 strength, fierce. Okay, but not great. Although, bladed gauntlets seems good with that vitality boost... |

So, our first warg...very interesting. I like it. It looks like the wargs are getting some new ways to fight, different ways than the BOHD wargs. For example...I’ll bet you that maybe some of the minions will be playable during the skirmish phase, thus A Defiled Charge.
Don’t forget, EL, that that warg-rider with the Gear will also be unable to take wounds except in skirmishes, combined with high vitality... |
