You’ve given away cards for BlaNOLINKck Rider, Bloodlines, and Reflections, but not for Mount DooNOLINKm or Shadows. That any closer? |

All right, we’ve heard from everyone except Celebrimbor, and no matter how he votes, Sperzdechly wins first place and the Black Rider foil.
For the record, here are the full standings:
Sperzdechly
elf lvr
CarpeGuitarrem
AnxiousChieftain
macheteman
NBarden
Celebrimbor & drveni
Mythdracon
Now, moving onward. That was a long challenge, so let’s try something shorter to break things up a bit...
So apparently the deck contest was won.... |
Tolkien was brilliant!
Three LOTR Movies should have been made per book... Making a total of nine.. |

Bah, I thought this would be obvious... nevermind. Nobody wins that question, although macheteman came sort of close. I was aiming at the fact that the deck design contest only involved building half a deck!
New Challenge:
Design a Free Peoples deck (including Ring-bearer and Ring) using at least one card from all 16 possible LOTR TCG sets, including Rise of Saruman.
New Prize:
A set of four Spanish-language fellowship archery cards: 2x "Legolas, Hijo de Thranduil" (Legolas, Son of Thranduil) and 2x "Arqueros de Gondor" (Gondor Bowmen).
Same procedure as before -- post your deck designs to one of the LOTR TCG Deck Clinics, then come back here and post a link to your deck’s thread.
The deadline for this event (which I’ll try to stick to this time) is Friday, January 19 at midnight CST; over the weekend we’ll take a vote to determine the best design!
______________________________________________________________
Actually, I think I’ll announce two challenges today. This next one is an ongoing challenge that will last through the end of the month.
New Challenge #2:
Post a review of every Rise of Saruman card that’s revealed, now and in the future, up through January 31.
Use the existing threads in the Rise of Saruman discussion forum, and post your own comments as a reply. To qualify for the RoS spoiler challenge, you must actually add something to the strategic discussion about each card. Posts that say "Great card," "Looks useless to me," "I agree," and so on, don’t count. Posts that are more wordy but still don’t say anything, like "This would go well in my deck," also don’t count. Give us some actual strategic information -- why would it go well in your deck?
Writing something useful might be hard when a card is obviously very good, so here are some ideas: Is it better than other, similar cards? Always or only sometimes? Is it good enough to actually change the meta? What can opponents do to stop it?
It also might be hard to write about a card that’s obviously very bad, so here are some ideas for that situation: Why is it bad, exactly? (Is it part of a bad decktype? Is it too easily countered? Is it simply "under the curve?") Could it be good in certain situations? (In certain decks? Against certain decks? For budget decks? In sealed deck/draft play?)
If you can’t think of something brand new to say, try taking what’s already been said a step further, perhaps with a sample decklist.
While you’re at it, please rate the cards as well (although I won’t actually check for this).
New Prize #2:
I’m reserving 30 (yes, thirty!) of these foreign-language rares and foils for this challenge. Sometime soon after the end of the month, I’ll skim through the spoiler threads to see who’s reviewed all the cards. The 30 prize cards will be evenly distributed among those people, with extras distributed randomly in case they don’t divide evenly.

All users are welcome to participate in either or both of these challenges... Good luck! |

Unfortunately, this is impossible.
The Wraith Collection is completely shadow. There are no free peoples cards in the set.
Just Kidding BTW, but this isn’t completely spam, as it makes a point. |
