The first new Rise of Saruman minion intended specifically for Warg-rider decks!
I think this card’s abilities may actually be overshadowed by those of the other minions that Warg decks will be packing. A possible exertion at the end of a skirmish (Orkish Flanker) is almost neNOLINKver as good as a guaranteed wound, or even multiple wounds, during the skirmish (Scouting Orc). And while the Flanker’s condition removal ability could definitely come it handy, it comes at a high price since most of the other minions in the deck want to save their vitality for their own exertion abilities (Scouting Orc, Orc Miscreant, Moria Menace, and so on).
I’d say Orkish Flanker will probably secure a spot in most Warg decks; he just wouldn’t be my favorite minion to draw. |

So far from what we ’ve seen, this guy is the bread and butter of warg decks. A terrible splasher, but a good minion for the new shadow. His abilities and stats might not be that good (unless i’m missing sth) but he is a good choice to mount when you got plenty of twilight. |

Well...but notice that this orc has no exert cost to exert the companion, and it can actually exert any companion. (Including the ring-bearer). This means that now has a ring-bearer wounding mechanism, perfect for splashing twilight nazzies.
And, if you got a big minion on a companion, this guy can exert that companion. Easy exhaustion, which enables a kill.
So I think that this card’s abilities to exert any companion is awesome, especially since this can work into a RB wounding mechanism. |

to get the exert from him, you need him to be mounted, and a way for him to win a skirmish. so he really wouldn’t work in a nazgul splash. you’d have to add about 8-12 cards to make it effective, and after that it only adds one exert to the ring-bearer. there are far more efficient ways to accomplish the same thing. for example: resistance becomes unbearable.
but over-all for the card, it could be very useful in a straight warg deck. warg decks need their minions mounted, so giving a possible exertion out and possible condition removal, could be a useful warg-rider. |

A bit of a mess-up in the lore: "...the Orkish rider were..."
Should be ’rider was’ or ’riders were’.
While Scouting Orc is almost definitely a better minion for the Warg deck, this guy will probably be included as well. has never had great condition removal; Dread and Despair and Unreasonable Choice have buyouts, Storm the Ramparts lets the Free Peoples player choose which condition to discard, and Orc Raid Commander only works against decks packing multiple copies of the same condition. This guy, on the other hand, can easily discard a whole bunch of conditions since the minions will all have lots of vitality from the Wargs. |

This is very nice! I love the condition discarding! Not the best for the Warg-riders, but he’s definitely a staple. I’d include him. And I betcha there’s an easty way to fetch mounts. I just betcha. (Oh, wait...Threatening Warg, right?) |
