But as soon as the threats are removed with Tom, which is what the whole deck is based around, Pippin will just shrink again. Merry is a more consistent fighter or just a more resilient fighter than that version of Pippin. The point of the deck is to have a recurring Tom Bombadil and to do that, you need threats to be removed...well first threats added...then removed, making Pippin kind of inconsistent.

And as soon as the threats are removed, Aragorn gets shooting with his bow, adding the threat count back up before Pippin’s skirmish

As soon as Aragorn’s Bow is discarded, then you’re up the creek without a paddle, but then again Merry could be discarded as well. We could go back trying to prove which unbound hobbit is better to use, and while I think this discussion was rather interesting, it’s probably a moot point now. Go Merry!

Each to his own opinion, even though mine is better.

Might as well keep this discussion going then...you game?? I’ll just have to think of where I can take this next. Feel free to suggest something if you’d like.

Um...yeah. Pippin can fight the Balrog, Terror of Flame and Shadow, and then cancel the skirmish. Or take the three wounds the balrog dishes out.

Merry, on the other hand, is to low of a strength. Cause with a hobbit sword, he’s max strength 5, and you add threats during his skirmish phase. Pippin, on the other hand, with 1 threat can fight. And then with a bounder or Severed his Bonds (since towers sites aren’t used anymore, thus the alternate text can always be used), you can take wounds.

Can Merry do that at 5 strength? Or do you have to discard there and back again to get him fighting?

Okay, lame argument. But at least better to be able to do that than to let someone else die.

What I guess I’m saying is Pippin is better Balrog fodder than Merry Mr. Green Can’t beat that argument Mr. Green
