So, we got another pipeweed. Pretty good for a deck that focuses on unbound Hobbits. Just load up on the pipeweed and let those little Hobbits smoke as much as they need to survive.
The regroup ability is nice, but since you’re simply trading pipeweed at a 1-to-1 ratio, I don’t think I’ll be using that ability. |
All cards do what they say. |

The skirmish ability is nice, but the regroup ability is [apparently] useless. Plus, there is no period after ’+2.’ |
I had to put something here. |

Weird is all i can say about this latest set by decipher. No other set created so many discussions, doubts and bizarre game mechanisms nobody can figure out how they work. It’s a shame for a great game like this. And spelling errors make it look like decipher doesn’t give a rip about this game anymore. |

I think they’re letting their kids do the typing nowadays.
I actually think this is a pretty good card, though. Works very well with both old and new pipeweed. Very versatile. In the right deck, this is a key card. I give it a 4. |

Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!
Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North! |

Looks like a solid card to me. Basically it’s just a condition that can be discarded for a strength bonus, along the lines of Heirs of Gondor or something similar (although, of course, weaker for a culture not known for fighting). It doesn’t hurt that it lends its ability to all your other pipeweeds as well.
The regroup ability is actually pretty sweet IMO, not for the obvious reason of trading one pipeweed for another, but because it can be easily used as deck filtering to set up better Shadow hands. The first time your fellowship is about to stop and you have a Southfarthing Leaf in your support area, discard it to play another copy, then discard the second copy to play a third, the third to play the fourth, and the fourth to play some other pipeweed. Now your deck is thinned out by four Free Peoples cards, and you’re that much more likely to draw into a big minion swarm.
Yeah yeah, this idea isn’t all that great, but it’s still something to keep in mind. In LOTR TCG it’s very important to know how you’re most likely to win each game -- run with the fellowship, or kill with the Shadow? Cards that allow you to take real action after making this decision (in other words, cards that can help either half of your deck) are always worth mentioning. |

Very cool card, I like the strength pumps!
And besides Shadow filtering, there’s another reason for the Regroup text. Think of it this way: if you have 4x of say, Pipeweed A, and you have 4x of this in your deck, it’s kind of like having 8x of Pipeweed A, since if you draw one of these, you can discard it in the regroup to grap Pipeweed A. Very nice. |

Umm, read it again. It fetches from the Draw Deck not the discard pile... Now granted, I don’t know all of the other pipeweeds, but this only makes it more likely that you will be able to get pipeweed A. |
