It was awesome, but many people liked the Pelennor Fields (and the Southrons!) better...and the entire TTT movie was a lot...more drudgery than the others.
In the first one, you had discovery and "jump" moments of suprise and terror. In the second one, you were supposed to have a lot of inertia pumping...and inertia pumping doesn’t make for a movie that’s better than the others. It’s not any fault of the moviemakers, it’s just that the second movie of a trilogy is rarely the favorite, for that simple reason. |

But I like the gruesome part in the Return of the King when the last battle rages. It makes my brother sit on the edge of his seat! |

Spammers really are amazing creatures. You can learn all there is to know about their ways in a month. And yet, after a hundred years, they can still surprise you. |

The Return of the King, definitely. The battle on the fields Pellennor, Shelob, the King of the Dead, etc. FOTR comes in second, and TTT third. |
I had to put something here. |

Well I’m actually going to go with The Two Towers.
I loved the Battle of Pellenor Fields in ROTK, but the fact is, I’m not going to rank the whole movie based on that scene, and I usually end up not watching the last half hour of ROTK, because it just gets boring.
Fellowship is good and is probably the best movie of the trilogy, but TTT is still my favorite. The Warg Riders and Elves at Helm’s Deep were absoulutly brilliant changes IMO and I always felt that Helm’s Deep was a much more dramatic battle than the Pellenor Fields, maybe because at Helm’s Deep, all the heroes are at risk inside the fortress...
Anyway, I liked TTT the most. |

at pellenor fields, Pippin, gandalf, faramir, eowyn, aragorn, and merrry all almost die. Theoden and Denethor do. I think that is quite a lot of almost killed heroes.
To quote SE Elves pwn, so I still liked the addition to helm’s deep. |
