Well...I haven’t been as busy as originally thought, so I think I will (tentatively) begin making more cards.
Time for the cards! I though that the shire should contribute to ’s new strategy, so here are the hire cards.
•Frodo, Resilient Hobbit
Companion • Hobbit
Strength: 3
Vitality: 4
Resistance: (10)
While Frodo is assigned to a skirmish, each other companion is resistance +1.
00U80
•Sam, Loyal Hobbit
Companion • Hobbit
Strength: 3
Vitality: 4
Resistance: 10
While bearing the One Ring, Sam is resistance -5.
Sam is strength +1 for each minion assigned to the Ring-Bearer.
Each time Sam wins a skirmish, exert a minion skirmishing the Ring-Bearer.
Response: If Frodo dies, make Sam the Ring-Bearer.
00R81
Well...those are the cards helping out. Long Live the Halflings!
Now for the Bilbo spoiled early on.
•Bilbo Baggins, Well-Traveled Hobbit

•Merry, Defender of Rohan
Follower
Strength: +1

Rock

Bearer must be a hobbit.
Archery: Discard this possession to wound a minion.
00C88
Hunting Bow

And a support area possession.
•Stash of Pipeweed

When you play this possession, stack a pipeweed from your draw deck on this card.
Each time a minion loses a skirmish involving a companion, you may exert that companion to stack a pipeweed possession from your draw deck on this card.

00U91

Each and minion is strength –1 (or –2 if you spot a companion).

Alright, each of these are missing something.
Green Dragon Bartender, Merry, Pippin and Rock each need a phase for their ability.
I’m guessing that Green Dragon Bartender’s is a fellowship, Merry and Pippin have skirmish abilities, and that Rock is an archery ability.
Rock and Hunting Bow each need to have who they can be played on (I’m guessing ’Bearer must be a Hobbit’, ’Bearer must be a Hobbit companion’ or ’Bearer must be a companion’). |

’nother possession, and then some conditions and events.

Skirmish: Exert bearer and add a threat to cancel a skirmish involving bearer. Any shadow player may remove to prevent this.

Unnoticed

Bearer must be an unbound hobbit.
Assignment: Exert bearer to exert a minion.
00C92

Each minion skirmishing bearer is strength –1 for each wound on that minion.
00R93
•The Green Dragon

00R94
Sterner Stuff

I know it’s expensive, but seeing as how there’s no limit right now, you can remove double-digit burdens in one pop if you work at it. I’d put a cap on this...somewhere around 5.

No thanks. The idea isn’t bad, but Hobbits have much easier ways of cancelling skirmishes. Not sure, offhand, what to suggest to fix it. Sorry.

Now THIS I’d use. Might be cool if you slapped stealth onto this. Unusual, but cool. MAYBE up the cost to .

Maybe prevent it from being used on the RB and remove the uniqueness.

"While Frodo is the Ring-bearer...", "If Frodo is the Ring-bearer...". I think you could make one of the abilities work whether he’s the Ring-bearer or not...probably the resistance, so you can just take that out of the text and have a Resistance +2 "icon" before all the text.

With cards like Sorry About Everything and Nine-fingered Frodo and the Ring of Doom, this would probably never see use except in desperation.

A pipe without actually being a pipe. Nifty. I’d make sure you can’t use it on the RB, though, or it might get X-listed. Or at least errata’d.

Thanks for the review!
I didn’t make the suggested changes to A Pint and The Green Dragon, because I think that if you go through the effort to get tons of tokens on A Pint with Hobbits (which is difficult), why shouldn’t you be able to peel off all those burdens?
And with The Green Dragon, sorry, The Green Dragon is unique. And what’s wrong with the RB healing? |

Eh, it just always makes me leary when it’s relatively easy to heal the RB. Takes one aspect out of it and forces the Shadow player to focus on Corruption, which isn’t always easy. But that’s just me. This IS coming from someone who has yet to play a game of LOTR TCG, so take it for what it’s worth.
