Bleah. Terrible card. I’m disappointed. I would never run this guy. Only benefit is running against site control, then might as well just use Theoden, Northman, King of Rohan.

He’s not bad for a budget player, Theoden’s rare in a set with more rares than anything else, and this guy’s got 7 strength, so if Decipher’s trying to make the game playable for new players, this guy works.

But a side note:

Look at the guy’s costume, it looks familier... Yes, I have a feeling that this guy is no less then....

His flavor text is interesting...the pillage of the Westfold, the brutal slaughter of women and children, the ruthless destruction...I guess we can just blame that on the corruption of Theoden. Wink

Due to the fact that Uruk-hai site control is being revamped in RoS, this guy might see some play; otherwise, he is a disappointment. I give it a 2.
I had to put something here.

I disagree. He would never see play. In order to liberate site, you have to play a possession on him, and then it couldn’t be transfered.

Riddermark Javelin, play it, discard it, play it back on someone else.

Play Coif, Rohirrim Axe, and Riddermark Javelin on this guy and he wouldn’t be half bad IMHO. Rohirrim Axe is perfect for skirmishing the new site control Uruks; I think this guy will see some play. Smile

I agree with AP. I gave him a 3 because, while far from a great companion (even among non-uniques), he’s not that bad, either. With pretty good stats, it can’t hurt to load him up on a few of Rohan’s many possessions and shut down site control in the process.

He’ll have his uses. He’s no Eomer or Theoden, but he’s not awful either.
Best regards, Dáin, Vice Aftokrator of the Chosen Ones

Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!

Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North!

concidering the new Uruk-hai site control strategy, i think he fits quite nicely into a rohan archery deck. play a possession like Riddermark Javelin and Rohirrim Bow if your playing in expanded, and he has an easy way to shed those possessions. if you play possessions on him 6 times (if you play a mount, arm0r, hand-weapon-and multiple ranged weapons), that could kill site control while using a normal rohan archery deck.

all in all, useful in the right meta, or if you run a rohan archery deck.

Meh, I’m not too fond of this card. I give it a 2; for the same cost, I can also player Éomer, Northman or Éomer, Horsemaster; the latter can even play for 1 less! This companion gets a 2 from me.

yeah, but he is easy for newer players to get. I think he is pretty decent.
