To play, spot Thranduil or a Elf companion.
Fellowship: Exert Galion to play a possession from your draw deck.
“‘You began your feasting early and muddled your wits! You have stacked some full casks here instead of the empty ones, if there is anything in weight.’”
make it if that possession was played to your support area, heal an elf companion IMO
I did the next best thing and let Galion add an extra token.
And yes, NB, Gollum HATES Elves. They WERE the ones that captured him just before The Fellowship of the Ring, after all. That anti-Gollum feel is not entirely coincidental.
Thanks for the reviews, both of you! |

Fellowship: Exert Galion to play a possession from your draw deck. If that possession is Dorwinian Wine, you may place a token on it.

Simple, but useful. Nice!

Possession • Support Area
When you play this possession, place a token here for each Elf you can spot (limit 3).
Response: If a companion is about to exert, you may add and remove a token from here to place no token for that exertion.
Regroup: Discard this possession to heal X companions, where X is the number of tokens on this possession.
“‘Now come with me and taste the new wine that has just come in. I shall be hard at work tonight clearing the cellars of the empty wood, so let us have a drink first to help the labour.’”
Change the response text to "to prevent that exertion." Sweet cards! |
I had to put something here. |

Thanks for your review, AP. I hear what you’re saying with the wine, but I’ve been told by others in past reviews of similar cards that the wording I have is probably more technically accruate (like with Strength of Spirit). Thanks, though!
Dáin’s DC Duos #82
Moving right along...though if anyone wants to go back and review #81 still, I certainly have no problem with that! I just want to get through the rest of Elves as quickly as possible so we can move on to the last of the Free Peoples over the weekend.
The next two Duos will finish off Elves...at least the actual characters. Our final four Elf companions of Lasting Alliances begin...NOW. Enjoy!
•Belówen, Elven Guard
Companion • Elf
Strength: 6
Vitality: 3
Resistance: 6
Hunter 1.
Skirmish: If Belówen is not assigned to a skirmish, exert him to capture a wounded minion not assigned to a skirmish.
“Then the Wood-elves had come to him, and bound him, and carried him away.”
Certainly one of the easier ways the FP player has to capture a minion. Belówen doesn’t require winning a skirmish, or limit the vitality or cost of the minion being captured. He can capture ANY minion with no other conditions placed on it...except that neither he nor that minion can be assigned to a skirmish. That can be risky and a bit undesirable considering his easy 7 strength. But worth it? That’s up to you to decide.
•Lianna, Mirkwood Adventurer
Companion • Elf
Strength: 5
Vitality: 3
Resistance: 7
Ranger.
While bearing a hand weapon, Lianna is strength +1.
While bearing a ranged weapon, Lianna is an archer.
While the fellowship is at a river, forest, or plains site, Lianna gains hunter 2.
She was a respected and feared warrior in the Elvenking’s army, noted for her independent streak.
Lianna, like the hunter Corwin, is not from Tolkien’s works. She was in the game version of The Hobbit that was signed off on by the keeper of all things Tolkien, though.
As for her actual card...well, she’s a beast. Pretty easily 7 strength, and 8 + a hand weapon’s additional bonus without too much of a problem, either. Heck, give her a Blade of Mirkwood, a Bow of Mirkwood, and put her at a forest or river and she’s strength 5, +1 for bearing a hand weapon, +1 from the actual hand weapon, +1 for the Blade’s game text (being at a forest or river), AND +1 (for being a hunter) from the Bow’s game text = 9 strength, WITH hunter 2 AND archer! And you can do all that for only twilight and some decent site manipulation. Whoa.
Needless to say, Lianna will likely be in a number of Elf decks, though with her "independent streak" (AKA non- -specific game text), she’s very easy to splash (just as Corwin was) and would likely appear in more places than just with her Elven brethren. |

Ouch. Nice. Pretty powerful, Shelob captured and NG dead.

Nice. Who cares if she wasn’t in the book, neither were Uri and Sindri. Maybe a little bit powerful, however, give her cost.

I upped it to . I’m reluctant to go higher than that unless a second review says so as well.
Thanks for the review. I was starting to get a little worried there. Ya’ll usually pounce on these like you’re waiting for me in the afternoon. |

I’d prefer another review or two before I move on, if possible. I always like second (or third, or fourth ) opinions. |

ok, but the ease of capturing a minion should prabably make this a twilight companion. however it’s up to you. but if you are going to leave it at , i would make it strength: 5 and keep it hunter 1.

ah, unique. that’s good, it may be alright how it is, maybe make the hunter bonus 1. but you can probably keep it how it is. |
