Good.

Yep, that works.

Exert an Ent to look at the top 2 cards of your deck. You may spot a Shire minion to take one of those cards into hand. Place the rest on the top of your deck in any order.
"’You do not seem to come in the old lists that I learned when I was young.’"
DU97

It’s a LITTLE unclear whether you’re spotting the Shire minion among those revealed cards or in play.

Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!

Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North!

Generic, but useful.

I suppose I can see where that confusion would come from, but I’m not sure if anything would need to be changed. I think I’ll consider adding an ’in play’ after ’spot a Shire minion’.
If I wanted it to be a Shire minion in those cards, it would probably be worded:
"Exert an Ent to reveal the top 2 cards of your deck. If you reveal a Shire minion, you may take one of the revealed cards into hand. Place the rest on the top of your deck in any order."

But now for some more support (though reviews of previous card are, as always, appriciated):

0 Bones of the Earth Gandalf
Event • Skirmish
Make an Ent strength +2. If that Ent wins this skirmish, your opponent must discard a card from his support area.
"’We can split stone like the roots of trees, only quicker, far quicker, if our minds are roused!’"
DU77

Obviously stronger against decks that don’t have many cards in the support area and those that rely on those cards. Also stronger, as it can discard Shards of Narsil and the Gondorian Palantiri - or it can get rid of a condition, or a possession. Of course, you don’t get the option of which is discarded, so obviously this is best used when they have just a few cards there (or, in multiples) so as to get rid of what they are needing.

1 Own Way Gandalf
Event • Maneuver
Exert an Ent and another minion to make both gain all cultures that either has until the regroup phase.
"’I go my own way; but your way may go along with mine for a while.’"
DC89

Another culture gain card. I think it’s fairly simple, but may get more complicated if you use Own Way on Treebeard multiple times...
Basically, they are travelling together and they are each able to pick up on some abilities of the other. Of course, even if you exert Treebeard and Frodo, you’ll have a Shire Ent and a Gandalf Hobbit. Then exert Treebeard and Galadriel to end with a GandalfShireElven Ent, a GandalfShire Hobbit and a GandalfShireElven Elf.
So cards that affect a culture’s minions, can affect the Ent (or other minion) that uses this card. But quite a few also specify the race of the character, so it’s not quite as bad. (It does get fun in cross, if I don’t convert the text at all, though)

1 •Curunir, Lord of Angrenost Gandalf
Follower
+1 Strength
Aid - 2.
When you transfer Curunir to a minion (except an Ent), exert that minion.
Bearer is strength +1 for each Ent and Wizard you can spot (limit +4).
"’He was always walking about my woods. He was polite in those days, always asking my leave; and always eager to listen.’"
DR78

Of course, the ’good’ Saruman. I’m not quite sure what the limit should be, but I did put it on, although I was thinking about not having it...
This is the old Saruman, that would take time to speak with Fangorn and learn. This can, of course, result in an odd scenario where Gandalf has Curunir following him and skirmishing Saruman. But there are odder (Aragorn with Anduril while Boromir has Narsil and The One Ring, as a simple example).

I think "must discard" would be better than "discard".

I think it should say "and another minion", shouldn’t it? The rest of the wording is odd, but I think it works.

Maybe +4. Not quite sure, but that just strikes me better for some reason.

I would change "it" to "that Ent" and "this skirmish" to "his skirmish". Dain is right; "discard" should be changed to "must discard".

Well... I’m going to go ahead and make it "another minion", although I’m not sure what the advantage of exert an Ent twice for no effect is...

Well, today we’ll be finishing up the Gandalf culture, and allowing the Dwarves to come out of the hills. After that, we’ll move on to our second fellowship group: Gollum, which means I’m going to have to be working on cards this week...

In our final group of cards, we feature the lost Ents, in various incarnations.

5 •Wandlimb, Lightfooted Gandalf
Minion • Ent
10 Strength
4 Vitality
6 Site Number
Response: If Treebeard is about to be wounded, exert Wandlimb or discard her to prevent that wound.
"’...and there were Entmaidens then: ah! The loveliness of Fimbrethil.’"
DU98

Literally having been lost, Wandlimb is a tough Ent (and the only named Entwive). She is a strong opponent, but not horribly dangerous, acting as a buffer for Treebeard. She can take the damage for him, making him so much more dangerous. Beyond what normal buffers can do, she can wander off as well, allowing for an additional wound.

3 Fangorn Tree-herd Gandalf
Minion • Ent
8 Strength
3 Vitality
6 Site Number
While the fellowship is at a forest, this minion gains hunter 2.
At the start of the skirmish phase, you may remove 2 to make this minion damage +1.
"’Few enough of us are left now.’"
DC81

Those lost over the years, whether by time, sleep or wounds, the Tree-herd is able to use the forests to help him, but can also use the unknown to make himself stronger.

7 •Skinbark, Wounded Gandalf
Minion • Ent
14 Strength
3 Vitality
6 Site Number
Damage +1. To play Skinbark, exert a Gandalf minion (or discard 2 Gandalf cards from hand).
Skirmish: Exert Skinbark to exert a character skirmishing him (if that character is an Isengard character, make Skinbark strength +2).
"’Skinbark lived on the mountain-slopes west of Isengard.’"
DR94

And lost to the machinery of Isengard. Skinbark does not respond as well to the rushed Hobbits, but when he gets going, he’s willing to sacrifice himself to take out the dangers of Isengard. They’ve already wounded him, so they will end up taking him out. So, why not get them while he’s at it.

a tree-herd you think would be stronger, make him cost 5, and have 11 base strength, or 6 and 13 base.
