And A Dark Shape Sprang is really broken, if played right. Hobbit sword to toughen up Frodo? Eat Gollum! And all his smooth ninja moves. With the gollum that discards a card to make him strength +2 while skirmishing a ring-bound companion, OUCH!

A Dark Shape Sprang isn’t boken. Good but not broken
A broken card by my definition is either very splashable and not culture reinforced like Pallando or Neyla, or does something that is unblockable by normal mean, or creates a widespread NPE effect, ie IB decks.

Many cards are good like A Dark Shape Sprang is but not broken.
Gandalf leader of the Company is used a lot but isn’t broken even though he is splashed a lot.
btw instead of Anduril, Sword That Was Broken
it should be
Anduril, Sword That Is Broken

Um...by your own definition, its not broken. Its not splashable, and I see it killing only two decks, site control, and shadow conditions. Although Held now has a use...play it on Frodo to site 8, get a minion? Aragorn wins, Held is gone, no minions? Discard in regroup phase.

Anyway, its stat bonuses are overpowered, and it definitely overshadows previous copies, but its not broken.

Saruman, Keeper of Isengard and Savagery to Match Their Numbers, by FAR! Power According to His Stature is pretty broken too, working with ANY ring-bearer!
I don't like YOU.

Have you ever seen NG vs Durin? It ain’t pretty.

I found that out the hard way against CG. Rolling Eyes

Hehe...wow, that was a REALLY long time ago. Although...I thought that was my Gollum-Moria swarm? That was a nifty deck, once it got rolling...

Bill Ferny is my pick for most-broken legal card. I mean, you have to tech against Ferny to beat him...otherwise, he’s an auto-win at early sites.

PATHS is pretty broken, but if your including x-listed cards, The Shire Countryside is the best card that has ever been printed. there are some really broken COMBOS, but that is a different storu.

Burning of Westfold can be pretty devestating to a condition heavy fellowship. Kind of like a Buckland Homestead for Uruk-hai.

You’re right. You were using a Moria swarm / Ninja Gollum combo. Evil or Very Mad

Saruman’s Power is a pretty broken card that’s still legal for expanded format.

i do have to agree that the shire countryside is one of the most broken cards ever. i’ve played against decks built around it, and that was... frustrating. Evil or Very Mad

Infinite Gandalf is worse... much worse.

Yes! I have enough twilight to play Lurtz, Now Perfected! Oh, wait; he automatically dies. Evil or Very Mad
