I thought it would be fun to twist the Shire culture a bit, and to give the Halflings a little more serious skirmishing power. I would like some suggestions. Would these DCs work well in gameplay? Please review!

  •Frodo, Persevering Still

Companion • Hobbit

Strength: 0

Vitality: 4

Resistance: 10

Frodo may not bear hand weapons.

Maneuver: discard 3 cards from hand to make a minion lose its Hunter keyword.

At the start of each skirmish involving Frodo, make him gain Hunter [X], where [X] is the twilight cost of the minion he is skirmishing.

As he came closer to the Black Land, the Ring became heavier, but he still pressed on.

  •Sam, Stout and Loyal

Companion • Hobbit

Strength: 3

Vitality: 4

Resistance: 6

Hunter 2.

At the start of the maneuver phase, you may exert Sam and spot 2 hunter hobbits; those hobbits take no more than 1 wound during each skirmish until the regroup phase.

He refused to leave his master, and would fight to the death for him...

  •Merry, Impatient and Hasty

Companion • Hobbit

Strength: 3

Vitality: 4

Resistance: 9

Hunter 1.

While you can spot Pippin, Merry is Damage +1.

  •Pippin, Friend to Merry[shire]

Companion • Hobbit

Strength: 3

Vitality: 4

Resistance: 9

Hunter 1.

While you can spot Merry, Pippin is Damage +1.

  •Bilbo, Experienced Explorer

Companion • Hobbit

Strength: 3

Vitality: 4

Resistance: 8

Hunter 3.

Skirmish:. Exert Bilbo to make another Hunter Hobbit strength +2.

  Sterner Stuff

Condition • Support Area

Each hobbit Bearing a hand weapon gains Hunter 1.

Each hobbit not bearing a hand weapon is strength -1.

Popcorn is not gooey like fat, and also not crunchy like potato chips, but crispy like lettuce which makes it a healthy snack. |

Assign Sauron to him lol. But strength 0 is nasty against guys like Goblin Runner. They would kill him. Rather weak, give him his base 3.

To spot two hunter hobbits, nice. Maybe up to two? Oh yeah, ring-bound.

Where’s Old Took? He’s a great candidate for a hunter hobbit. |

Yeah, I’d give him SOME strength to start with, like 2. Very cool idea overall, though.

Interesting. Very unusual, but it seems balanced to me since you’d still need some good pumps to have them winning any skirmishes. Plus all they really get is a hunter 1 and damage +1 in exchange for their other versions’ abilities. By the way, damage should be lower-case.

"hunter" should not be capitalized in his text. He needs Ring-bound. But otherwise, he looks okay to me.

"bearer" and "hunter" need to be lower-case. Nifty other than that! |

Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!

Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North! |

forgot the ring-bound for Sam and Frodo. My whole point was to make the culture crazy. I can see that with sudden fury things would go awesome, especially with damage hobbits.

BTW thanks for the gp. |
