Well, here we are! As per the poll, it’ll be three cards per contest. This set’s theme is Episode II: Attack of the Clones. For complete rules of the game, see other thread.
Cultures are (FP): [Naboo], [Jedi], and [Republic]. (SH): [Geonosian], [Separatist], and [Trade Federation]. Yes, I know the Trade Federation joined the Separatists, but it should be big enough to merit its own culture.
Keyword changes: Diplomat replaces Muster. The unloaded keyword group Jedi, Jedi Master, Sith and Sith Master may need some explanation. A card that spots/exerts a Jedi works on a Jedi or Jedi Master; a card spotting/exerting a Sith works on Sith and Sith Masters, and a card spotting/exerting a Master works on Jedi and Sith Masters. (Of course, Jedi Masters and Sith Masters can also be referred to individually).
There’s one more keyword, Bounty Hunter, but that’s part of the first round of the contest.
This week, we’ll start with the Star Wars equivalent of the One Ring, the Force. Assignments:
*The Force, Powerful Tool
This one should be the better of the two, but with the price of needing a Jedi or Sith bearer whenever possible. It should include the gametext: "To play, spot a Jedi. While you can spot your Jedi or Sith, bearer must be a Jedi or Sith." The reason for the rather circuitous gametext is: what if the Shadow player has no Jedi or Sith? This forces the Alliance player to have Jedi to use it, though. (If you can think of better gametext to achieve the same purpose, feel free to use it instead!)
*The Force, Part of Life
This is your Ruling Ring version; standard, can be borne by anyone.
There really isn’t a third card that goes with these two, so for this week only, you’ll design a keyword. What does Bounty Hunter do?
My idea, for example, was Bounty Hunter (Each time this minion kills a character in a skirmish, heal him.)
You can either post your entries here or PM them to me. When I have 4 or 5 entrants, counting myself, I’ll post the next round. Enjoy! |

I’m assuming that The Force should have The One Ring-like game text?
So, how about...
•The Force, Powerful Tool
+1 Strength
While bearer is a Jedi or Sith, he or she is vitality +1. Each time The Force is transfered to a Jedi or Sith, heal another character.
While using The Force, each time bearer is about to take a wound, add a burden instead.
Response: If bearer is about to take a wound, he or she uses The Force until the regroup phase.
•The Force, Part of Life
+1 Strength
Each time The Force is transfered, exert your character and heal another character.
While using The Force, each time bearer is about to take a wound, add a burden instead.
Response: If bearer is about to take a wound in a skirmish, he or she uses The Force until the regroup phase.
Bounty Hunter (Each time a character is killed during a skirmish involving this character, you may remove to stack that character under this character instead.) (and, for companion Bounty Hunters, it would be ’add ’, similar to aid) - then they would tend to have abilities that would do things with ’captured’ characters. Discard for cards (bounty), kill to play another character for less (tribute), etc. |
Our time here is ending...
What did you want to see before the end?
It will be made in the Request-a-card Set #1 (name ideas also welcome ). |

Cool idea, eomer! for you!
How are these?
The Force, Powerful Tool
Bearer must be a Jedi or a Sith.
While using The Force, each time bearer is about to take a wound, add a burden instead.
Skirmish: Add a burden to play an event from your draw deck or discard pile on bearer.
Response:If bearer is about to take a wound, add two burdens to use the Force until the regroup phase
Here we see the force as a tool which the Jedi or Sith use to manipulate skirmishes to their advantages. In battle, the Jedi and Sith usually use The Force to do things like increase their reflexes, gain extraordinary strength, and control others. With this version of The Force, I translated this into the ability to play events on bearer from the draw deck. Now, in order for this ability to be balanced, I knew the cost would have to be pretty steep, but since this Force doesn’t do anything else besides playing events from the draw deck, and because bearer HAS to be a Jedi or Sith, I figured adding one burden to use the ability would be alright. Lmk what you think.
The Force, Part of Life
Bearer must be a companion.
While using the Force, each time bearer is about to take a wound, add a burden instead.
Response: If bearer is about to be overwhelmed, add a burden to make him or her strength +1 until the regroup phase.
Response: If bearer is about to take a wound in a skirmish, he or she uses The Force unitl the regroup phase.
Here we see The Force as the "luck" that allow certain beings to survive against almost imposible odds. This is translated into the game as allowing the bearer to use The Force as a last lifeline to survive. Again, the abilites are quite good, so naturally, the cost is also high. This Force is basically a one time thing for most companions, which I think reflects the way it helped certain characters in the movies. Again, lmk what you think.
Finally, here’s my idea on the Bounty Hunter key word:
Bounty Hunter x.(At the start of the assignment phase, you may remove [x] to assign this to a companion.)
Bounty hunters are character who chase after targeted marks for money. This translates into the game as allowing bounty hunters to "go after" their prey, by assigning a choosen character to skirmish them. To compensate for this great ability, I have placed a high cost for it. To use the ability, you must remove x number of twilight, where x is the number next to the words Bounty Hunter. This allows desingers to show how skilled certain bounty hunters are compared to others. (example: Boba Fett would be Bounty Hunter 1 because he is a skilled bounty hunter, while Denger would be Bounty Hunter 2 because he is less skilled as a bounty hunter than Boba is.)Right now, I have made this a minion-only key word. This is because there were only BAD bounty hunters in the movies. lmk what you think. Should I change it to a key word for both sides, or what?
Anyway, I would really like to help out with this in any way that I can. Lmk if you want my help. |

The Force, Powerful Tool
Str +2
Bearer must be a Jedi or Sith. Each time a Jedi is about to be discarded, return him to your hand. Each Time a Sith is about to be discarded return him to your hand.
"The Jedi and Sith had both learned to control the Force to do their bidding"
a slightly more powerful version
The Force, Part of Life
Str +1
While Bearer is a Jedi or Sith They are Strength +1.
"The Force is everywhere it connects us with everything else"
like you said, basic version
[b]Bounty Hunter X[/i]
Each time a Character is killed in a skirmish involving this minion, add [X]
the idea is that bounty hunters want a reward after they catch the criminal and it’s usally their own set price |
Here's My Trade List
I have taken an oath of poverty, to annoy me, send money
I am a trained assassin catcher |

Aye, I plan on it, but I’ve been slow in developing ideas. I should be able to come up with something today, if you’re willing to wait me out. |

Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!
Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North! |

•The Force, Powerful Tool
Strength +1
Vitality +1
Resistance -1
To play, spot a Jedi.
While you can spot your Jedi or Sith, bearer must be a Jedi or Sith.
Response: If bearer is about to take a wound, he or she uses The Force until the regroup phase.
While using The Force, bearer is strength +2, and each time he or she is about to take a wound, add 2 burdens or a burden and a threat instead.
“‘...the ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force.’”
•The Force, Part of Life
+1 Strength
When tranferred to a character (except a Jedi or Sith), exert bearer. If you cannot, add a burden instead.
While using The Force, each time bearer is about to take a wound, add a burden instead.
Response: If bearer is about to take a wound, he or she uses The Force until the regroup phase.
“‘The Force is what gives a Jedi his power. It’s an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us and penetrates us. It binds the galaxy together.’”
Bounty Hunter. (Each time this companion/minion wins a skirmish, you may discard an exhausted minion/companion in that skirmish.)
(I actually like several other people’s ideas for bounty hunter more, but I can’t use those ideas, so I had to settle for this. ) |
