Sweet!
I’ll go with the wounding/possession ability. |
Never kid about politicians. The more bizarre the joke, the more likely it is to come true. |

Good. We could use some more direct wounding/exerting potential in the party. |

And I just realized that I’ll have to clarify things about what is considered to be "in hand" or not...I’ll work on that.
Oh, and Aragorn, King in Exile PM’d me, seeking to join. I admitted him, so he’ll be showing up at this site. Everyone welcome Aragorn!
~~Site 3: Dúnedain Camp (Sanctuary)~~
Curubethion shouted, "Hurry up, quickly!" even as the last warg fell. He stayed near the ground, constantly searching back and forth. But in his mind, his single thought was for the peril they had faced. Something was stirring, and it had been called forth...he let his breath out in a half-hiss.
This is far greater than I had thought... he told himself.
The party traveled behind him, trying to keep up, and he slowed his pace. They were almost there-the camp of the Dúnedain, always kept stocked in case of such an emergency. He took a deep breath, and squinted. Then, he looked up at the stars. They were somewhere near, he could tell...now, he only needed to find it...
A light appeared to his left. A campfire. He slowed, and signalled to the party. "Over there, companions! A fire! If it is friend, we ought to be welcome, and if foe...we can take him!"
He was met with roars of approval, and the party swung left, towards the strange light. As they drew nearer, a figure stood and hailed Curubethion. Relief filled him, and he waved to the figure, shouting, "Ellar!"
The man waved back, and the party drew nearer. He was a man, they could see. But not a Ranger...rather, he was garbed in the manner of one of the Laketown men. And as Curubethion began to talk with him, they found that he was. A man of Dale, actually, and an acquaintance of the Ranger. How that had happened, they knew not...but that didn’t seem to matter.
Looking back at them, Curubethion said, "Well...I suppose now it is time to instruct you further on your task. And you, Ellar, you must know of this as well. For it will involve you. Gather close, companions. For this tale is not for all.
"The Dúnedain have been keeping a close watch on Arnor, and the lands around Fornost," he began. "Yes, we still keep watch. And we have been noticing strange things. The terrible wargs that you see. Spectres. And even more terrible beasts, like wargs, but worse. All of them swarming near the northern borders of these lands. The parties do not raid, but rather seek to avoid observation.
"After long counsel, it was decided that one of us would take a band of warriors to attempt to discover just why these roving bands of monsters are being seen around here, roving bands like none we have seen. And I was chosen. Now, you are coming with me to go north, and hopefully to uncover the reason behind these animals’ behavior." He paused, and looked at all of them. "But this should not concern you now. Now, it is time for healing. Come, and rest."

So, just to be clear, we can heal 7 wounds total here, right? How do we decide who gets healed and who doesn’t?
Also, why does Rorin have 2 wounds? He only took one....
Oh, and what are Ellar’s stats?

After the assault of the wargs, Duinihir paused to observe the group. A strange company it was, Men of Dale, Dunedain, Elves, Rohirrim, Dwarves and Hobbits. But all mingled with each other in cooperation and comradery, and Duinihir could no help but feel that this company was perfectly suited for the task ahead.
Duinihir retrieved his canteen and filled it with water from a nearby stream. Taking a drink, he moved to join his comrades, sure that this mission would be a success.

To play, spot a companion. Each time the felowship moves, add a threat.
When you play this condition, add a token here for each race you spot.
Regroup: Remove two tokens from here or discard this condition and spot a companion of one race to heal a companion of another race (and remove a threat if that companion was a companion).
Men of Dale, Dunedain, Elves, Rohirrim, Dwarves and Hobbits...all mingled with each other in cooperation and comradery. |

After their short meeting with Curubethion dispersed, the small band broke up into little groups, each holding their own private conversations. Ellar ushered Curubethion to sit on a log next to him. "My old friend, it has been ages since we last talked. Tell me, in greater detail, what this quest is about. I have been in the dark since I was summoned to this camp by the Dunedain council itself, and I seek answers to quench the questions in my curious mind."
In a hushed voice, Curubethion related how he had fared over the past few years, how he had been choosen for the task of discovering the motives of these roving bands of evil beings, and how he had rallied a band of valiant, battle-hardend warriors to help him accomplish his task. "So," he said after he had finished his tale, "That is why I asked the Dunedain to summon you, Ellar. You are wise in the ways of battle and a loyal ally. I wanted you at my side for this quest, just like the old times." Ellar nodded. "I am honored that you think this of me. I will join you in your quest." Curubethion nodded, then stood up. "Come." he said. "It would be wise for you to meet your future companions.
Curubethion briefly introduced Ellar to the other companions of the party. Ellar was intrigued by the diversity of the members. There were elves, men, a dwarf, and even a small creature Ellar knew from legend as a halfling, or hobbit. Each member greeted Ellar warmly, but Ellar knew from experience that they were sizing him up, wondering if the man that stood before them was able to take on such a perilous quest. "I don’t blame them for wondering about me." Ellar thought. "I certainly don’t look much like a warrior." Ellar knew that he wold have to prove his worth as a member of this fellowship. "...And prove myself, I shall." He thought to himself. As Curubethion continued on introducing Ellar to the companions, he came to the dwarf. Ellar recognized him at once. "Rorin!" he cried. "Aye lad, I was wondering if you would remember me." "Remeber? How could I forget. You helped the men of Dale ward of its enemies during the spring of the Great Flood." "Aye," The dwarf nodded, "That I was, and, if memory surves my correctly, you led the battlition of Lakemen Archers that recaptured Dale and turned the tide of the battle." Ellar grinned. "That was only because you single handedly killed Gazar, the warg chieftain in hand to hand combat and caused the wargs to flee from the battle." The dwarf grunted, "Well, this will be like old times then, eh?" Ellar grinned again. "Yes it will. I am comforted to know that you will be aiding Curubethion in his quest, but who is this man here?" he asked, guesturing to Ryle. The man steped forward. "I am Ryle, Leader of the Ortans." Ellar nodded. "I know of them, it will be an honor to fight by your side, Ryle, Leader of the Ortans." Rorin guestered for Ellar and Curubethion to sit with him and Ryle. The two men sat down and began to exchange stories.
Hello all, thank you for letting me join, even though I am a bit late. Like Ellar, I know I will have to prove myself able to be a part of this DC adventure. I will do my best, feel free to make any comment that would help me. Heck, if I’m horrible, be honest and just tell me drop out. But if not, then I look forward to becoming a fully fledged fighting member of this party.
Here are Ellar’s stats:
* Ellar, Man of Dale
Companion * Man
Strength:4
Vitality:4
Resistance:8
Skirmish:Exert this companion to make a Man strength +2.
And his possession:
Sword of Dale
Possession * Hand Weapon
Bearer must be a Man.
While bearer has a resistance of 6 or more, he is strength +2.
And my condition:
*Strong Friendship
Condition * Support Area
While you can spot Rorin and Ellar, and both have a resistance of 6 or greater, they are each strength +1.
While you can spot Curubethion and Ellar, and both have a resistance of 6 or greater, they are each strength +1. |

I’ll just be healing companions in the order of vitality, so exhausted ones get healed first. In fact, I’ll up it to 8 wounds, in honor of Shelob.

I have him down for an exertion, and BW says he ended up being wounded...
