Each time bearer wins a skirmish, you may remove a token to draw a card (or remove 2 tokens to exert a minion).

I can’t decide to make it cost or leave it at . Hmm, either way it doesn’t do too much, and is costed either way.

If a Elf is about to be exerted by a Shadow card, discard a card from hand to place no token for that exertion.

I’d make it "discard a card from hand". |

Archer. Hunter 2.
Archery: Exert Legolas and add a threat to exert a minion (or wound a minion if that minion is a Spider).
Legolas was reputedly the finest of Mirkwood’s archers.

I feel better now that there’s a real Elven name on the card. Sorry everyone, but I’m a purist. A nice Rumil-Orophiny guy, but having Hunter 2 is a bit much (but then, I think that the new Rumil and Orophin are a bit much). Think about it, it’s effectively a /8/3/6 companion. The new Denethor is exactly that, but he isn’t an archer and you have to add a burden each time you move. I like the spider-hate.

Good, but Galion isn’t much of a warrior. Why is he exerting minions? Maybe he should heal people with his good wine?

Should be a response action, and with all their card drawing, the card that they discard should be restricted to or it should possibly be more cards. Good though.
GP for a nice developing strategy. I’d still like some reasons why you chose to change the culture, though.

I chose over because seemed to fit better with the storyline of The Hobbit. After all, Mirkwood was inhabited by both good and evil forces. Hence, a Free Peoples side of and a Shadow side of .
Hatred of the Spiders
Event • Maneuver
Spot 3 Elves to reveal any Shadow player’s hand. You may exert a Elf to discard each Spider revealed.

Hidden Archers

Toil 2.
Spot 2 archers to make the fellowship archery total +2. If no roaming minion can be spotted, choose any Shadow player. That player must discard 3 cards from hand (or a Spider).
The enemies of Mirkwood were slain before they could see the bowmen that shot them.

Or you just liked Dain’s idea. . JK, of course.

Kind of harsh. You should probably have a Elf exert to discard the spiders.

Good! The fact it’s maneuver alone makes it underpowered, so as long as it isn’t tipping the rift it’s an ok DC in my book.

Holy smokes! I’d make the last sentence say "That player must discard 4 cards from hand. (Or a spider)" It would combo nicely with the DC above. |

As long as its a maneuver this is a cool card.

Argh i hope i never face this card, cut the number of random cards or make it players choice.

OK, I accept that reasoning, but I’m generally a fan of changing old cultures rather than inventing new ones. My Mirkwood Elves are and my spiders , but I understand why you did it.

Fine, but I’d have to see some spiders before a real judgment can be made.

I think the ability is too powerful, it needs toning down (the cards, the archery bit is fine). And no one likes having to discard random cards from their hand - for better game-enjoyment, I recommend letting the shadow player choose.

Cards edited. Thanks for the reviews, guys!
Mirkwood Archer
Companion • Elf
Strength: 5
Vitality: 3
Resistance: 7
Hunter 1.
Archery: Discard 3 cards from hand and spot another Elf to make the fellowship archery total +1.
The bowmen of Mirkwood could hit a bird’s eye in the dark.
C34
• Flurry of Arrows
Condition • Support Area
To play, spot 2 Elves.
Each time a minion is killed during the archery phase, add a token here.
Archery: Remove 2 tokens from here to make the fellowship archery total +1. Discard a card from hand or discard this condition.
”…they sent against it a shower of arrows….”

Heh. Giving that title another go, eh?
Again, I think it should add to the fellowship archery total rather than out-and-out make him an archer. But this is as balanced as I think you can MAKE a non-unique archer, so I wouldn’t be terribly upset if you left it as is.

I think it should be "during the archery phase" instead of "in the archery phase", though admittedly I’m not 100% sure. I think you could reduce the number of cards discarded for the ability to just 1, and perhaps require spotting a Elf (with no culture attached) to make up for it. |
