Lurker. Fierce. Hunter 1.
Each time the fellowship moves, you may spot 3 threats or exert Úlairë Khamûl to wound an ally or discard a follower.
“But as they looked it seemed to move and sway this way and that, as if searching the ground. It then crawled, or went crouching, back into the gloom....”
Sweet!

Twilight. Lurker. Hunter 2.
While you can spot 3 burdens or the Ring-bearer is exhausted, Úlairë Khamûl is fierce.
Each time Úlairë Khamûl wins a fierce skirmish, you may add a threat.
“Of Khamûl it is said that he was the most ready of all the Nazgûl, after the Black Captain himself, to percieve the presence of the Ring....”
Good and balanced.

Strength +2
Bearer must be Úlairë Khamûl.
If he does not have any other damage bonuses, Úlairë Khamûl is damage +1.
Each time Úlairë Khamûl wins a skirmish, you may add a threat (or, if that skirmish was a fierce skirmish, remove a threat to add a burden).
The weapons of the Nine are wrought with sorcery.
Neato!
Great synergy with these cards! |
I had to put something here. |

Anyone else? I’ll post more cards before I go to bed regardless, I think, but another review would be a nice bonus. |

They look good to me.
I would post a usual sort of review, except I’d just be posting, "Cool!" or "Nice!" or "Good!" under each one. |

Cool. Thanks, guys.
As you can probably tell by the two Nazgûl already posted, there are two groups of Nazzies in The Road Ahead: black riders, and twilight minions. Here’re the rest of the riders. With these (and all the set’s Nazgûl), I tried to go back to their roots a bit, with abilities similiar to their pre-Shadows versions (when Decipher seemed to forget the themes they had going for many of the inidividual Nazgûl).
Anyway...enjoy!
•Úlairë Lemenya, Rider in Black
Minion • Nazgûl
Strength: 9
Vitality: 2
Site: 3
Each mounted Nazgûl gains hunter 1 (or hunter 2 if at a forest site).
Each time you play a mount, you may take a search card into hand from your draw deck.
“As Frodo watched he saw something dark pass across the lighter space between two trees, and then halt. It looked like the black shade of a horse led by a smaller black shadow.”
•Úlairë Nertëa, Rider in Black
Minion • Nazgûl
Strength: 9
Vitality: 2
Site: 3
Hunter 1.
The twilight cost of each mount and search card is -1.
When you play Úlairë Nertëa, you may add a threat for each mounted Nazgûl you can spot.
“‘It’s from Hobbiton that this here black rider comes, unless there’s more than one. And I know where he’s going to.’”
•Úlairë Toldëa, Rider in Black
Minion • Nazgûl
Strength: 12
Vitality: 3
Site: 3
Fierce. Hunter 1.
Assignment: Exert Úlairë Toldëa twice (or once if at a forest site) to assign a companion (except the Ring-bearer) to skirmish a mounted Nazgûl. Limit once per phase.
“...on it sat a large man, who seemed to crouch in the saddle, wrapped in a great black cloak and hood, so that only his boots in the high stirrups showed below; his face was shadowed and invisible.” |

Great, should really encourage the play of Nazgul mounts! I don’t know if it’s a tad bit powerful though. Maybe it could be -1/-2, or only wounded companions?

Nice, as someone who likes to play with threats, this is a cool one, and again a nice incentive to play mounts.

Nice. I’m not too big a fan of assignment actions, myself, but still a cool card. |

I think this guy is too powerful. Compare him to the first Lemenya, Ulaire Lemenya, Lieutenant of Morgul. This guy has an effective +1 strength and a better ability. Take out the forest bit, and I’d say it’s fine.

To clear up the card, I would take out the forest bit, then also take out the limit (unless you’re planning on healing your nazgul in the assignment phase). Or else I just wouldn’t bother with the limit. Good stuff.

I would just lower Lemenya’s ability to -1(or -2 if at a forest site). Other then that, it looks pretty sweet. |
