Oof, nice stats. However exert twice to discard a minion in the maneuver seems harsh and pointless unless for the double move. Why not in the fellowship phase?

Same stats as both my versions of Beorn. Obviously, I approve.
I agree with lem0n: move the ability to fellowship. Very painful that way. But then limit it to once per phase, since a Beorning Axe (and its vitality boost) or decent healing would make it a bit too good. |
Best regards, Dáin, Vice Aftokrator of the Chosen Ones
Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!
Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North! |

Aye but would you want to exhaust you best warrior? I think the risk is what would make it worth it! |

Can I get a third opinion on this? Should his ability be limited to once per phase or not? |

I just think that discarding ANY two minions before the Shadow player gets to use them is too much. You could get rid of Sauron and The Balrog, for instance, before they ever got a chance to hit the table!
So my opinion is do it in fellowship and limit it to once per phase. If you go back to maneuver, I think you could safely leave it unlimited, since the chances of two minions even still being there at that point are pretty slim. |

Ok AP i agree with Dain now, his examples were valid. I hadnt thought of bomb tactics. If you faced swarm or beatdown though exerting him 4 times to discard 2 minions would be harsh so it wouldnt be OP if you werent sure whether it would pay off or not. That way it would be good but risky. |

I don’t know, the cost to do it is heavy, but it’s a very powerful effect, especially if you could do it twice. Also, he is already a powerful companion with 10 strength, 4 vitality and damgae +1. Maybe it could be adapted somehow so that’s okay when it’s used twice, for example: remove the ’add ’ and have the discard of the minion be the Shadow Player’s choice; or, discard 2 cards from hand instead of one. |

Its gotta be the free peoples choice thats what makes it awesome. If it was make the shadow discard a minion he could get rid of a little orc or something and id never be tempted to use that over the other grimbeorn. |
