What can I say? I haven’t been as sad in ages... The death of a great game... Sad
Seriously, LotR was so cool... I learned all I could from it, and I shared as much as I could with the local community. Really sad it has to go down like this. Hope a lot of you DO switch to MTG, but that’s because I think you’re all a GREAT player community, and I wouldn’t want this to go off in smoke...

The game is not dead. They’re not making anymore cards, but its not dead. There are still thousands of unexplored decktypes out there (for me anyway, everyone may have been able to figure out every possible deck out there), so the possibilities are still endless.

A sad day for LotR, but this explains Treachery and Deceit. D, with its dying gasps, neglected the player community and milked the game for all it was worth. Brilliant way to sell a prodcut, bad way to build a reputation and friendships.

Wow, what to say? In a way I’m glad that they aren’t making any more sets besides T&D + AE, because they seem to have run out of ideas and have resorted to making overpowered cards.

Cobra has said (I believe) that he would keep the LOTR forums active even if LOTR died, and so I’ll still be around here. Just because new sets aren’t being released doesn’t mean that I can’t have fun with the game, and so I’ll just make more decks and maybe try and finish up my promo collection.

Thanks for the great memories, Decipher!

Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad It can’t end yet! Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad (Let’s picket! Twisted Evil ) I hope the AE isn’t to expensive. Will they still be making cards? (like the old sets Shadows, Fellowship of the ring...?)

Well...good news is they’re going to release the Wraith Collection, RoS, T&D and Age’s End online, with EVERY CARD for $25!

The $25 for the online cards is awesome. I’m really happy they are doing that.

I would assume Age’s End to be around $40.

I wonder if they will still rotate king block or just leave it be.

They’d better not rotate king block! If they do I’m just going entirely back to movie block format, like the good old days...

I think they’ll let it be. There is no Eye Block, so there will be no rotation. Assuming they don’t go for a last ditch attempt at money and rotate everything except Hunter’s Block. Laughing\

Which might happen...

But do you really think there will be any stadard tournaments after this? No. Thus, you can do whatever you want. Its all casual.

Now, on that Cobra-sponsered tourney idea?
