Yeah, but it wouldn’t have any effect or bearing on the current skirmish.
Just to make sure, during the skirmish phase it is played, the chosen companion DOES get the strengh bonus, so if the power were to be switched, the event would apply. It does have an effect, just on a useless (mostly) time.
