I opted to do both, so now you can add a threat OR discard the 2 cards from hand. Assuming that’s good with everyone (and if not, let me know), let’s move on to Boromir! Smile

1Belt of Lórien Elven
Possession • Belt
Resistance +1
To play, spot an Elf. Bearer must be a Man companion.
Each time the fellowship moves from a sanctuary, you may heal bearer.
Assignment: If bearer is Boromir, discard this possession to make him defender +1 until the regroup phase.
“The Lady bowed her head, and she turned then to Boromir, and to him she gave a belt of gold....”
nice! make it 2 elves or galadriel

0Horn of Boromir, The Horn of Gondor Gondor
Possession • Horn
Resistance +1
Bearer must be Boromir.
Maneuver: Exert Boromir and discard X cards from hand to prevent a minion with vitality X from being assigned to a skirmish until the regroup phase.
“Loud the challenge rang and bellowed...for a moment the orcs quailed and the fiery shadow halted.”

assigned to a skirmish by either player might be the better wording.

Here’s the rest of Boromir’s stuff, including one that will probably really surprise you...and LACKING one that you might really wonder "why isn’t it in there?" That possession (bet you can figure out what it is) will appear in the NEXT set, The Way Into Mordor, which features Boromir in that pre-FotR Osgiliath scene from the movies.

Anyway, here’s the cards. Enjoy!

2Boromir’s Steed Gondor
Possession • Mount
Strength +1
Resistance +1
Bearer must be a Gondor Man.
Each time the fellowship moves to a site in region 1 or 2, you may exert bearer (or spot bearer, if bearer is Boromir) to heal a Gondor Man.
Response: If the fellowship moves from a site in region 3 or moves to an underground site, discard Boromir’s Steed.
“When I was sent out as a messenger, I passed through the Gap by the skirts of the White Mountains, and crossed the Isen and the Greyflood into Northerland. A long and wearisome journey.”

Remember, Boromir rode a horse into Rivendell in the movie, and in the book he says he had one as well, though he lost it somehow between Minas Tirith and Rivendell and had to trek the rest of the way on foot.

1Boromir’s Dagger Gondor
Possession • Hand Weapon
Strength +1
Bearer must be a Gondor Man. This weapon may be borne in addition to 1 other hand weapon.
Skirmish: If bearer is Boromir, exert him or discard this possession to wound a minion he is skirmishing. That minion’s owner may take 2 of his or her cards from play into hand to prevent this.
Unusually for a dagger, the wide blade was fullered so that in all respects it resembled the tip of Boromir’s sword.

Boromir had a very odd knife which did, indeed, look a lot like his sword. It’s seen only briefly in the film, when Boromir throws it into the neck of an Uruk, but it’s definately there and deserves a card, methinks.

1Blade of Gondor, Bane of the Uruk-hai Gondor
Possession • Hand Weapon
Strength +2
Bearer must be Boromir.
If Boromir is wounded or in a fierce skirmish, he is damage +1.
Skirmish: Add a threat and exert Boromir (or spot 2 unbound Hobbits) to wound an Uruk-hai (twice if skirmishing Boromir) or an Orc.
Boromir’s sword was like its owner: big, broad, and powerful.

This one probably looks familiar to anyone that’s kept up with AP’s current DC contest. Angel

Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!

Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North!

Great with tying in how he loses it! Applause I would also add "Discard this possession if underground." Thumbs Up

Heh. These DC ideas just keep jumping out at me.

Neat. Although I’m not sure I like an exertion for a wound trade-off between a companion and a minion. Maybe give a shadow player a way to prevent, like removing 3?

I found myself having to re-read that skirmish text a time or two to make sense of it, but it works fine. The card looks cool, though.

Two problems, one subjective, one objective:
1) I don’t like the brackets in the first ability. I’d just say ’Bearer must be Boromir’ and leave it at that.
2) The second ability, as a response, makes no sense, as it’s your CHOICE whether you use it or not. Should be each time.

2 CARDS FROM PLAY? ’I think I’ll take your Gandalf, and maybe your anduril - my aragorn could sure use it!’ Has to be ’your cards’, otherwise it’s the most broken and ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen!

Boromir had a very odd knife which did, indeed, look a lot like his sword. It’s seen only briefly in the film, when Boromir throws it into the neck of an Uruk, but it’s definately there and deserves a card, methinks.

Bleh! Far far far too much text. Take out all of the brackets, and I’d be happy.
